Overview

Mosey is a long range, heavy displacement trawler with the capabilities of crossing any ocean. From the keel to the roof of the pilot house, she is constructed of mild steel ranging from the 1” thick keel plate to the 3/16” thick pilot house roof. Everything above the pilot house is built from marine-grade aluminum, including the flybridge skirt and the equipment mast. Aluminum was used in these upper structures to keep the center of gravity low, thus increasing the initial and ultimate stability. The flybridge skirt is welded to the mild steel pilothouse roof using Dupont Detacoupler transition joints often used in military vessels. The aluminum mast is attached to the pilothouse roof using edge on 316 flat bar and Delrin insulation, and since it’s hinged, can be lowered to achieve a 19 foot bridge clearance.

The design concepts were created with the goal of creating a safe and capable passagemaker capable of going off grid, with enhanced security and storage, a fuel range of up to 8,000 miles, and bullet grade lexan windows. This is a serious yacht for a capable carpenter to add cabinetry and flooring, along with other finishing touches. Call or email for additional photos or personal tour.
