The 53' Hatteras Convertible is a timeless, fish-raising, open water beast of a fishing yacht. There have been many of these classic boats restored... but none to this level of restoration, a project that began with an empty shell! It all took place in 2012 starting with rebuilding the engine room stringers and replacing every bulkhead, new bridge, new windows, repowering with Cat 3406s, adding a mezzanine and so much more!!! She has been rebuilt very thoughtfully and tastefully without any corners being cut. Above the bulkheads the structure has been rebuilt with extensive use of Nidacore to both lower the weight as well as to lower the center of gravity. She is nimble and responsive; yet still the classic Carolina Battle Wagon. Her lines have incorporated the modernly desirable yet timeless Carolina custom yachts..... So, this is not your typical renovation or your typical yacht, essentially a new vessel built with a passion for the yacht and the result. This is a completely new yacht above the wetted hull surface. Interior finishes were a pursuit of minimal elegance, but the best rooms on the yacht are the bridge and cockpit. Relax in plush and spacious comfort, but don’t ever think she isn’t here to fish. She has only 400 hrs and is completely new.

New Full Awlgrip and Awlcraft paint job on hull and top sides completed March 2016. She also received balanced and reconditioned props and shafts as well as a  $10,000 bottom job completed in September of 2015.

Hull and Deck

This vessel was reborn the right way in 2012, from the stringers and bulkheads up. Fighting Lady Yellow Awlcraft 2000 was applied to the hull sides and Matterhorn White applied to the hardtop, house, and decks. She’s even been outfitted with one of a kind Shark-Fin engine room vent intakes, made of fiberglass and glassed into the hull sides featuring Stainless Steel accents.
