Overview

Lobster Boat bottom and a Carolina Style Cockpit, the "Cap'n B" was built for Capt Bernice Ballance and successfully charter fished out of Hatteras Inlet for years. Built by Jarvis Newman in Southwest Harbor Maine (hull # 63), she features a solid glass hull with full keel and "barn door" rudder. This, the second owner had the interior redone in 2013 by the Ritchie Howell boatyard in NC, and she features a salon that Charter clients will appreciate. With a Huge cockpit, sporting 3 fighting chairs and a transom fishbox, and a generous overhang for shade while watching trolled baits. Powered by a single 800hp Daewoo inboard diesel (new in 2001 with 4200 hrs). Up to date electronics and Bow Thruster.

Mechanical and Electrical

  • "Cap'n B" was repowered in 2001 with an 800hp 10 cylinder Daewoo inboard diesel (model V180TIM), this engine is Heat Exchanger cooled and has been regularly serviced, currently with 4190 hrs. Dripless shaft seal, with a 3" stainless steel shaft and a 4 bladed Nibral Prop. Power steering system has been updated with less than 100 hrs on a new dripless rudder port. 
  • Fuel tanks were recently installed, two 300 gallon tanks, mounted under the cockpit floor.
  • Generator power is supplied by a Northern Lights 3 cylinder diesel generator (model M673L3, currently with 850 hrs)
  • AC and DC breaker panel with remote generator start and Dockside/Boatside switch
  • Webasto 16,000 btu reverse cycle Heat/Air Conditioning (installed in 2011)
  • Optima Batteries (5 total) with on board battery charger
  • Single 30 amp shore power connection with power cord
