A-Lure was hull number one of the new 48 Supersport series built in1995 by Ocean Yachts. She was the factory demo so she has all the right options and then some!  Her interior was completely updated in 2012 with granite counter tops, teak and holly in the galley, heads and salon entry, stainless steel appliances, wine and beverage chillers and new soft goods throughout.  She runs a true 27 knots at 1850 rpms with 633 hours since major overhaul in 2006. Bottom was soda blasted and barrier coated by Osprey Marine in 2015 and the props are tuned annually.  The black metallic mask with silver flecks really sets off the profile of the boat and helps to keep her cool.  She has everything, needs nothing, and is priced to sell.

Last in a series of 48-foot convertibles from Ocean Yachts, the most recent 48 Super Sport has a wider beam than her predecessors with a more rakish profile (the house is carried farther forward on the deck), greater bow flare, and a deeper forefoot for an improved head-sea ride. Like all Ocean designs, her low deadrise, tapered hull is quick to accelerate and fast across the water performance characteristics common to most Jersey style fishing boats over the years. A pair of galley-up floorplans are offered in the Ocean 48, one with three staterooms and the other with two. Both layouts have walk around queen berths in the master stateroom, and both have two heads with separate stall showers. The cockpit comes fully equipped with a bait prep station, freezer, engine controls, transom door, teak covering boards, and an in deck fish box. Additional features include cockpit engine room access, wide side decks, and a spacious, well-arranged flybridge.

Broker Notes

The original owner of the boat fished her out of Cape May, NJ where she was well known for her offshore prowess.  The present owner has continued to lavish attention on her and refurbished the interior in 2012 under the supervision of Joe Judge and Joey from Ocean Yachts.  She features new granite countertops, new Perlick stainless steel double drawer refrigerators and freezers with and Edgestar wine cooler between.  The galley floor was replaced with teak and holly and a hammered copper sink and faucet were added that complement the colors in the granite.  The Princess cooktop was also replaced.  The sofa, settee and barrel chairs were updated with new upholstery, the blinds and accent panels were replaced and the mirrors on the cabinets and under the dinette were removed.  The sink and icemaker in the starboard aft salon corner were replaced with a granite top and an Avanti beverage cooler.  The stained glass marlin in the salon door was created by the previous captain's wife.   The carpet was replaced throughout the vessel in the spring of 2017 and there is a complete set of carpet runners.  For days at the dock the Bose surround sound system, Sony Playstation and new Tracvision system provide entertainment options.  There is loads of storage space under the sofa for gear.

Fishing Notes

Aft controls with trolling valves allow you to troll as slowly as 2.5 knots for rockfish in the bay. The low idle setting on the DDEC's will drop her to a 5 knot troll offshore.  The fishbox is equipped with chill plates, and there are plugs under the gunnel for electric reels. Bait prep station also has a chill plate in the bait box.  There are several cockpit canvas options including a standard sun shade, a much larger shade that suspends from the center rigger and from poles in the rod holders, and canvas for the covering boards.  The cockpit fishfinder is very popular with the anglers.  There is also a complete set of custom offshore rods with the A-Lure logo on them available separately.  Downriggers and complete tackle are also available.
