Overview

Introduction

If the destination, adventure, family, romance and exploration are the ultimate goals of why people purchase and build world cruising yachts, Galileo G is simply the vehicle by which these dreams can come to fruition.  Perini Navi understands how to make dreams come true better than most yacht builders which is one of the reasons why the Perini Navi brand has been so popular over the past 30 years.

What happens when Perini Navi Spa, who have built more large ocean sailing yachts than any builder in the world, joins up with famed yacht designer Philippe Briand with the mission to create a motor yacht with the unique DNA of quality, innovation and performance?  The result is a yacht that is robust enough to go anywhere on the planet, built to a level of quality that will satiate the world’s most demanding captains of industry and royalty alike, wrapped in a styling that resembles a floating Ferrari.  Galileo G accomplishes this and more.

Conceived by Philippe Briand under the Vitruvius motor yacht label, the 55m ice reinforced steel hull blends uncompromised performance by utilizing maximum waterline length, efficient underwater hull shape and purposeful styling to create a complete design platform that is as comfortable to be aboard crossing oceans as she is sitting on a mooring in Monaco or Bora Bora.  The design reference for Galileo G is for a yacht that is in harmony with the elements. Guests are exposed to wide open exterior spaces with unencumbered panoramic views of the surroundings, blended with an interior of polished mahogany balanced with natural lighting from unique features like architectural curved side deck windows and comfortable exterior spaces offering protection from the elements while maintaining a visceral connection with the exterior surroundings.

Galileo G looks like a thoroughbred and behaves like one too.  Performance efficiency is a priority and the 55m steel hull was designed from the keel up with this goal.  With a range in excess of 9000nm powered by a pair of Caterpillar 3512C engines she cruises economically at between 10-12kts with a top displacement speed of 14kts.  At 726 gross tons Galileo G offers as much or more interior volume as many other vessels of her same overall length due to her generous 10.35m beam.  The extra space is thoughtfully divided up into the expected grand owner’s suite on the main deck including office and gym, as well as 4 additional guest cabins below capable of accommodating up to 12 guests.  Less expected on a 55m vessel is the huge 9.5m tender, with 200 miles range, situated in a tender bay under the fore deck accessed via a side opening port.  A second 6.0m tender is housed aft.  A fold down side port with accommodation ladder provides easy access to the tenders and water for guests and crew.

Not forgotten is the need to support the owners and guest by providing crew accommodations for up to 12 and the toys and tenders that give the owner and guests access to exploring and enjoying being on the water.  With a 9.5m expedition tender, a 6.0m sport tender, a 4.2m rescue tender, 2 lasers, and 4 kayaks there is an appropriate water born vehicle for every adventure Galileo G might find herself.  In 8 years with nearly two circumnavigations under her belt, Galileo G has proven herself and is ready for her next owner to reap the benefits of her uncompromised performance and beauty.
