This 1981 Viking 43 double cabin motor yacht is in exceptional condition and is a true freshwater boat. This two cabin model provides very comfortable accommodations for the owner and guests and features a galley and dinette down layout that is open to the salon. She is powered by twin Detroit 6-71N diesels and an Onan 7.5 kw generator. A large sundeck and flybridge provide excellant outdoor areas for entertaining and navigation.

Viking 43 Overview

This 1981 Viking 43 double cabin motor yacht is in exceptional condition and is a true freshwater boat. This two cabin model provides very comfortable accommodations for the owner and guests and features a galley and dinette down layout that is open to the salon. She is powered by twin Detroit 6-71N diesels and an Onan 7.5 kw generator. A large sundeck and flybridge provide excellant outdoor areas for entertaining and navigation.

Viking 43 Walkthrough

Boarding this yacht can be accomplished on either the port or starboard side just forward of the sundeck or onto the swim platform and up a ladder on to the sundeck. Once on the large sundeck an entrance to the salon is just off center forward and molded steps up to the flybridge are to starboard. The large foredeck can be accessed by walkways on either side of the boat. Once in the salon, the master cabin companionway is to starboard aft and the lower helm is starboard forward in the salon. Forward of the salon and down, the L-shaped dinette is to port and U-shaped galley is starboard. Forward of the galley is the boats laundry facilities with the guest head to port. The guest cabin is all the way forward in the bow.

Viking 43 Accommodations

This yacht can sleep eight comfortably and features a full beam master cabin with centered queen berth aft and a comfortable second cabin forward in the bow. Additionally, the dinette converts to a double berth and the sleeper sofa in the salon pulls out to a double berth as well. The master cabin features an ensuite head and a second guest head is forward.

Viking 43 Salon

The large salon on this yacht is at the bottom of the companionway from the sundeck. The salon is primarily on the port side of the boat with the lower helm and companionway to the master cabin to starboard. A sleeper sofa is aft in the space and folds out to create a comfortable double berth. A fold down bar and U-Line ice maker (2015) are in the port bulkhead and the entertainment center is forward to port in the space. A single chair is next to the entertainment center and a small round wicker coffee table is in front of the sofa. The sole is carpeted and provides several access panels to the engine compartment. Along the starboard bulkhead is a matching chair and a wicker glass top end table with lamp and another fold down bar. A Singer ceramic heater is aft in the space to starboard, and large windows with curtains are along both port and starboard bulkheads.

Viking 43 Lower Helm

The lower helm is to starboard and forward in the salon. The lower helm features:

Viking 43 Galley

The U-shaped galley is forward and down to starboard from the salon and features:

  • Whirlpool 12 Cu. Ft. refrigerator with separate freezer
  • Princess 3 burner electric stove with oven and built in cover with cutting board
  • Whirlpool microwave oven
  • Mr. Coffee coffee maker
  • Stainless steel sink
  • Formica counter tops with teak cabinets above and below

Viking 43 Dinette

The large L-shaped dinette is forward and down to port from the salon and can comfortably seat four or sleep two once converted. The dinette table can be pulled out for meals or when used as a berth can be slide completely into the bulkhead for storage. There is storage under the dinette, behind the port side cushion and above in the bulkhead. A single portlight and overhead hatch provide natural light and ventilation to the space. The sole is carpeted and a Singer ceramic heater is at floor level facing the galley.

Viking 43 Forward Cabin

The forward guest cabin features a traditional V-berth configuration with filler. Each side of the berth has under bunk storage drawers and a large hanging locker with additional drawers is aft of the starboard bunk. A built in stand alone Singer ceramic heater is located between the two bunks and the sole is carpeted. Each bunk features a reading light and a large shelf and access to the chain locker is forward. A portlight on each side with curtains and an overhead hatch with cover provide natural light and fresh airflow to the space.

Viking 43 Guest Head

The guest head is just forward of the dinette and features:

  • a separate shower stall
  • Groco manual flush toilet
  • Formica finished vanity with teak trim and under sink storage
  • ceramic sink
  • medicine cabinet with portlight and shelf above
  • Linoleum flooring on the sole
  • Access doors to both the forward cabin and companionway

Viking 43 Master Cabin

The full beam master aft cabin is spacious and features a full, centered queen berth with nightstands and lamps on either side. Storage space includes a large hanging locker upon entering the space, storage cabinets and drawers along both port and starboard bulkhead, drawers in the nightstands and another large hanging locker at the foot of the bed. A built in makeup table is on the port side just outside the ensuite head and a Singer ceramic heater is below it at floor level. Two large rectangular portlights with curtains are on either side of the cabin and an additional portlight/escape hatch with curtain is above the headboard.

The ensuite head is forward to port in the cabin and features:

  • a separate shower stall
  • Groco manual flush toilet
  • Large Formica finished vanity with teak trim and under sink storage
  • ceramic sink
  • medicine cabinet with portlight and shelf above
  • Linoleum flooring on the sole

Viking 43 Laundry

This yacht features a Whirlpool 2 speed, 5 cycle washing machine and a Whirlpool 3 cycle dryer in a locker just forward of the galley.

Viking 43 Flybridge

From the sundeck up a set of molded steps you arrive on the flybridge. The helm is aft and a large padded bench seat with storage is forward of the helm and another padded bench seat with padding is along the starboard side of the flybridge. Two captains chairs are behind the helm. The helm is fully enclosed with canvas and Isinglass which are in great condition. The helm features a chart table to port of the helm and the following equipment:

  • Datamarine LX200 depth log
  • ICOM IC-M302 VHF radio with DSC

Viking 43 Sundeck

The very spacious, full beam sundeck features four  deck chairs and a small table and still has plenty of room for more. The sundeck is covered by a canvas bimini cover (2013) and a deck box is forward to port for storage. Fiberglass side covers are attached to the stainless steel stanchions and hand rails. A transom door provides access to the swim platform.
