ALFRED MYLNE

ALFRED MYLNE - the royal yachts

ALFRED MYLNE is a well-known yachtbuilding company established by Alfred Mylne in 1896. The company still bears the name of its founder and is considered the oldest in the field of yacht design.

Prior to establishment of his own company, Mylne was trained by the famous Milne Scottish shipbuilders - Napier brothers. Later he studied the drawings in GL Watson, where he participated in the design of the royal yacht "Britain". This yacht was subsequently used by the Prince of Wales, who later became King Edward VII.

By the end of the XIX century Mylne opened his own company, that is one of the oldest design departments in the yachting business today. Relatively soon Mylne gained fame as the designer of advanced yachts. In 1906 he participated in the development of international metric rules. In recent years, his department designed the elegant and fast ships with different dimensions. They created the projects of racing boats, powerboats and even merchant vehicles. In 1911, Mylne and his brother bought the shipyard and headed it for 35 years until he gave it to his nephew, Alfred Mylne II. The shipyard survived two world wars, during which it dealt with the vessels for the navy and manufactured the aircraft parts.

During its period of existence it designed about 7,000 projects. Now ALFRED MYLNE builds sailboats, motor yachts and superyachts. They also make the boats with an electric motor. Any person or organization can apply to the shipyard: they can build a ship that will fully meet the customer's requirements
