BLACK THUNDER

BLACK THUNDER - the triumphant return

BLACK THUNDER Powerboats is a small shipbuilding company, opened in Hannibal (Missouri) on the Mississippi River in 1987. It was founded by Don Jenkins, and specialized in the V-shaped boats. During the period of work hundreds of boats of different sizes and types have been released. In 2008, with the beginning of the crisis in the USA and the world, the shipyard was closed.

Five years later "Black Thunder" returned: the newly opened company BLACK THUNDER Powerboats began the construction of two new V-shaped boats with the length of 43 and 46 feet. The range of boats also included the models with 32 feet in length (with the center console), intended for law enforcement bodies, military purposes, commercial companies. On the Ozark (one of the famous lakes in the USA) they built the Black Thunder maritime center where they are engaged in sale, service, manufacturing and finishing of the boats.

New CEO of the company, York, took care of all of the future prosperity of the shipyard. Its founder, Don Jenkins, still makes the key decisions in the field of yacht design, and his son, Bob, holds the position of a vice-president. In 2013, the company introduced new products at the boat show in Miami.

The new goal of "Black Thunder" is to build boats that combine the traditional approach and the latest technology. A typical example can be the use of classical sensors together with the Garmin electronics. As before, BLACK THUNDER builds large, strong, comfortable boats, the real "condominiums on the water", according to York.
