Cherokee - the yachts for pleasure

Cherokee is an American shipyard that produced the classic pleasure yachts. These were the luxurious ships that were produced when there were no modern materials. Many models were made of natural wood, steel and aluminum. The boats were designed for shallow waters, they were developed for calm leisure and fishing if desired by the owner.

Today, many ships of this shipyard underwent restoration. Now they have technical innovations. The interiors have been restored - the design in the Herreshoff style was used in the yachts. The interiors will please the new owner of that ship with natural varnished noble wood. Even the boat decks look respectable.

The manufacturer has made the vessels that can serve for a very long time. The decades have passed since the time when some boats left the shipyard. They are still in the excellent condition. Even the technical component of these boats was modified only to meet the modern standards. Theoretically, these yachts can be safely navigated without modernization.

But some vessels would require the restyling because the interior wood does not have such strength. It quickly breaks down and loses its appeal. However, the new finishing is going to be more durable. After all, today the wood is covered by modern substances. The boats of "Cherokee" are made not only for recreation, but also for aesthetic pleasure.
