CONSOLIDATED SHIP BUILDING CORP - the rare vessels

CONSOLIDATED SHIP BUILDING CORP is an American shipyard that was founded in 1896 after the merger of two companies - Charles L. Seabury Co and Gas Engine & Power Co. The result was a conglomerate that during the construction of ships used the achievements of two respectable companies. The first boats of the shipyard still had steam engines. Soon, however, the company switched to the gas engines.

The shipbuilder was developing simultaneously with the technical progress. The company built a huge number of ships the list of which could take several pages. Among them there were both the well-established yachts that were ordered by the wealthy clients, and commercial ships.

After World War II the company produced the boats for a couple of years, then the shipyard was closed. The company ceased to function finally in 1958. It had only one successor - the company that was carrying out the ship repair. After the disappearance the shipbuilding giant lefthundreds of ships that entered the history of shipbuilding.

Today, some of the manufacturer's vessels are available at the brokers. The boats have served their owners for several decades, but kept the functionality. Many ships have been upgraded and modernized, some yachts were renovated. These are the rare ships that carry a value now.
