CONTESSA

CONTESSA - the legendary sailboats from the UK

CONTESSA is the series of the legendary single-engine mono-hull sailboats made of fiberglass, produces in different years in the UK by the company of Jeremy Rogers, the famous builder of yachts. The first was a sailboat Contessa 26, released in 1966. It was successfully tested. The vessel was designed for the long distances races.

Later, in 1970, there was a boat Contessa 32, an upgraded version of the 26 model. This yacht was designed by Jeremy Rogers and designer David Sadler, who was also involved in design of the previous sailboat. This boat participated in one of the legendary races and gained worldwide fame.

Then they produced the other ships of the same class that were also designed for the races and regattas. The racing yachts were equipped with the reliable single diesel engines and were consistently made of fiberglass. Due to the fiberglass the manufacturer managed to make these boats watertight, lightweight and durable.

Today, the buyer can find the serial models of sailing yachts made by Contessa on sale. Many of these boats were built in the last century, but they are perfectly preserved. Some ships have had a renovation.

The boats of this series are a real treasure, they have long been recorded in the history of the world of yacht building. A special place is given to Contessa 32. This sailing boat still sets standards in the construction of similar vessels, despite the year of development.
