IAN FRANKLIN - the sailing ship from Christchurch

IAN FRANKLIN is a shipyard in Christchurch, New Zealand. The company was liquidated in 2013, due to the financial crisis. The vessels made at this shipyard, were sold. Today, they are distributing around the world, some boats can be found at the broker. Mr. Ian Franklin began his shipbuilding business in Christchurch in 1971.

The company released a lot of sailing boats with a fiberglass hull. The boats have been recognized by the connoisseurs, because the manufacturer has developed an original design of the ships. These sailboats less than 20 meters in length are ideal for sporting events and regattas, and competitions, as well as just for pleasure to control the ship.

Today, these vessels are no longer manufactured. The shipyard ceased to exist, and its original drawings have never been used. However, the buyers can buy the sailboats made by IAN FRANKLIN at the brokers. The old yachts are also offered by the owners. Many ships under the brand can not be called old. For example, there are the boats made in 2000.

For the manufacture of the sailboat masts the company used carbon fiber. This material provides the decked sailing vessels with reliability. The masts made of the carbonaceous material can withstand severe loads. They do not lose their strength over time, the material is not susceptible to damage due to moisture and dampness. The buyer will appreciate the perfection of forms and ease of navigation of these sailing ships from New Zealand. They probably will be included in the history of shipbuilding.
