MATHIS YACHT

MATHIS YACHT - the legendary shipyard from the USA

MATHIS YACHT is a shipbuilding company on the Camden river (New Jersey, USA), opened in 1900. The company specialized in the yacht building and commercial vessels.

MATHIS YACHT was founded by John Mathis. Under his leadership, the shipyard built several commercial and naval vessels, ferries, fishing boats, minesweepers, patrol boats, barges, tugboats. Since 1910, the company has started to build the yachts for private clients. They produced the vessels for the wealthiest Americans, one of which was used by the US presidents. These were the luxurious and large ships that are now considered to be rarities and very popular among the lovers of vintage yachts.

In 1962, the shipyard that by then was renamed into Trumpy, was burned down, but the company continued to exist. Only in 1974, when there were hundreds of manufacturers of fiberglass yachts appearing in the market, it was forced to be liquidated.

Although MATHIS YACHT no longer exists, the yachts produced here continue to function. Some of them have been restored and modernized at other shipyards, some of them have been subjected to small repair. The ships made of fiberglass and composite materials, could not completely replace the traditional yachts of MATHIS on the market.
