Post Marine - keeping with the traditions

Post Marine is a shipyard in Chestertown, USA. The company was founded by Russell Lent in 1957. Today the organization has a good reputation - it is a serious shipbuilder that specializes in the semi-custom yachts. The vessel length is 42 to 56 feet.

The first boats at the shipyard were made of wood. It is known that the founder of the company used the cedar. At the site they produced the small Scythians and sailboats. Then the company began to build the fishing vessels. The sport fishing boats were no longer made exclusively of wood, when new materials appeared in the world of yachting.

In order to ensure the seaworthiness of the boats the bay in New Jersey, Maryland was chosen as the construction site. Despite the fact that in the 60-70s many companies switched to the fiberglass, Post Marine decided to create a new material protective layer of the hull.

Even today, the shipyard offers the sport fishing boats that are made manually of wood. The upper part of the vessels is protected with fiberglass, so even the used boats look as if they have just been launched.

In 1975, the partners Charlie Walters and Bill Schell bought the company. They did not change the traditions and continued to made the ships of wood with a small content of fiberglass.

The company decided to focus its efforts on compliance with the highest quality standards. The shipyard employed the team of experienced professionals, passionate for their work. On December 20, 2011 Post Marine Group LLC acquired the assets of Post Marine Co., Inc. The company's operations were transferred from Mays Landing, New Jersey to Chestertown, Maryland.
