Overview

118' AB Yacht 116 2009

Great opportunity for this AB 116 for sale – Great conditions.

The AB 116 is fully in line with the philosophy that’s underpinned our production since the start – a winning combination of extensive technical content, high performance and outstanding sailing comfort,” says Marco Arnaboldi, technical manager of AB Yachts.

“The hull, which is quite deep and has a nineteen-degree dihedral to stern, is very stable and can easily support extremely high speeds.” She is a very fast-moving yacht! Her three 2,400 MTUs coupled with MJP or Rolls-Royce Kamewa waterjets means that she can reach 46 knots with ease, with a range of 500 miles. And we’re not talking about an off-shore hotrod – what we’re looking at is a 36.20-metre luxury cruiser in full possession of all the bells and whistles the modern owner demands! Advanced materials have been used in her build, creating a light yet sturdy construction (Kevlar reinforced fibreglass and vacuum-processed Divinycell sandwich). She displays the sleek, tapered and harmonious lines of an open, emphasised by an iridescent, lightly gilded livery.

There’s also a generous flying bridge – though this, in fact, is invisible to onlookers. “The interiors,” says Arnaboldi, “are entirely custom-built. Clients have a wide range of options for choosing layouts, woods, fabrics and all the details, including taps, bathroom fittings and door handles.” So the description that follows, and the photos illustrating the feature, refer to a particular example called Musa, furnished by Barbara Tognon, the architect chosen by the owner. Designed for long cruises, the AB 116 has two garages – the very large on aft can host a 5.40-meters tender and a jetski, while the smaller forward garage can be used to hold an inflatable service dinghy.
