Overview

"Jabulani" is a special Africat, she was built in 2006 delivered to the USA in late November 06, commissioned in Ft. Lauderdale, and put into service in January of 2007.   The owners were very involved in the design and build of this boat making 2 trips to Africa during the build-out process, where they made numerous custom changes.   They built Jabulani from a sailing background and with cruising The Bahamas in mind and incorporated many features unique to this Africat.   Some of them are:

 

  1. Two tone gel coat.Jabulani is the only Africat ever built with cream color decks and nonskid surfaces reducing glare.
  2. Her keels are filled with solid resin and a 3/8 inch stainless keel skid plate runs the full length of the keels.Adding strength and bottom protection.Keels are lower than running gear.
  3. Jabulani is set up for serious fishing with port and starboard outlets for electric reels, outriggers, special storage tubes in otherwise unused space to hold rods, boat hooks and the like, a custom fitted stern cleaning table that doubles for a workbench and grilling table, 8 rod holders, and rod racks for 10 rigs.
  4. The custom interior layout features a single head on the port side allowing for a larger stall shower and a combination washer/dryer.
  5. An extra 100 gal. Diesel tank was added port forward to service the generator and is plumbed it so it can feed engine tanks as necessary.
  6. A forward facing opening hatch giving the main salon extra ventilation.

  7. Underwater lights were added.

  8. Trim tabs were added, which increases speed.

  9. Jabulani comes with custom cherry bookshelves and a chart case.

  10. Jabulani has a custom built cherry inlayed outside table.
