Entry onto KE AMA II from stairs port or starboard, midship, is onto decktop crossing directly into decktop cockpit lounge from starboard or port side, with captain's station and expansive lounge/dining area aft of the captain's station. This decktop lounge area is of unusual size for a yacht of 78 feet. It has a fixed roof, excellent all-weather protection, with rollup acrylic canopy all sides, closed or open for weather or as preferred.
Entry into boat interior is from this decktop lounge and cockpit area, just starboard side of captain's station. Descending stairs to the main salon completed in American Beech with teak and holly sole. All seating areas, elevated from walkway, unlike most salons of yachts this size, afford views out of this interior main salon to starboard and port sea or at-anchor views above deck level. Directly starboard is the captain's chart table, office center & electric panel, with a large, centrally located bar fridge adjacent and forward of this office center that is flanked by two wide sofa type leather chairs. To the main salon's port side, stairs descend to the guest staterooms; beyond and above on the aft port salon wall, is a 33-inch Samsung flat screen TV, facing the full salon lounge areas. There is a state-of-the-art Bose stereo system + a separate stereo system enabling dual and concurrent use of TV & stereo music for both the upper pilothouse lounge/main interior salon, as desired.
Forward of the main salon, is the galley and crew/pantry area. Starboard is the crew's dinette & lounge area, and large pantry, with their own 32inch flat screen Samsung TV above the descent through the main bulkhead door entry to the engine room. To port is the galley, with stove, refrigerator, freezer, spacious cabinets and counters.
Walking forward from the galley through a watertight bulkhead, is the crew head & shower on the port side, with the washer/dryer equipment directly across, starboard side. Forward of these through another bulkhead is the upper & lower 4 berth crew cabin. The upper berths are oversized.
Aft of the main salon, descend through another watertight bulkhead and the companionway to portside 3-berth guest cabin with ensuite. Directly starboard, is a guest cabin with double bed and ensuite.
Aft of the guest accommodations, you enter through an aft watertight bulkhead, the spacious main owner's cabin with queen bed, lounge sofa, wardrobe closet with built-in safe, and a larger ensuite. The owner's cabin is equipped with a surround-sound Bose stereo system, has its own large flat screen Samsung TV and audio-visual equipment.
Decktop, aft port and starboard stern sides have large storage lazarettes. Starboard lazarette storage includes dive compressor and space for dive equipment, fishing gear, and the port storage includes an additional freezer and icemaker.
Captains comments aboard KE AMA II. “This is one of the finest sailing performance cruising yachts I’ve had the pleasure to be aboard. She is strong and comfortable at sea and while sitting on the hook. She is easy to handle, safe and fast. Setting sails and reefing is very easy and handled by two people at the touch of the hydraulic controls .The large fully battened specter mainsail is easily managed even in heavy weather.
The cockpit is the premium area. It is safe, dry and spacious. It can be fully enclosed or opened on the two sides and aft section as needed. You can sit in this area and not interfere with the running of the vessel. It is the most functional cockpit I have experienced.
The deck is completely clean. There are no fittings anywhere to kick or trip over ...easy and safe to walk around with no shoes! There is a large foredeck area, and large clear aft deck with an awning used when anchored, a great area to prep the dive gear, under shade. There is a Bauer dive compressor in the starboard lazarette, along with the BCD's, etc. The port lazarette houses the extra deep freeze, ice maker and fishing gear.
The hard bottom inflatable is stowed on hydraulic davits on the stern, easy to launch and retrieve. The stern swim step area has s/s steps which drop down from the transom providing swimmers, divers with tanks, and all water sport activities, easy and direct access to and from the water. There is a hot/cold shower in the lower transom/swim steps area for rinse of equipment and personal rinsing/showering upon return from all water sports. This transom design facilitates easy entry and exit for all water sports, from novice and youth, to experienced adults.
All personal fishing gear and diving gear.
