Leave it to the Australians to come up with true powerhouse of a yacht.

Rugged looking and hard charging, the Aquabay runs like the high speed trains of Europe. The designers sat down and evaluated the market and brought in ideas that would incorporate features of large yachts that would add extra amenities that an owner would like. Australians have some of the worlds most incredible cruising grounds and it was the no-nonsense approach to handling rough water and the blend of true elegance that became the Aquabay 70.

The Australian yacht experts at Aquabay Yachts collaborated with a team of interior stylists, naval architects and T.C. Yachts to re-design and re-define what constitutes a 70-foot sports yacht. The Aquabay 70 houses technology, design and versatile interior solutions seen in much larger vessels. Most importantly, this versatile yacht can be built to US and Australian survey standards and available for both markets. This is more than has ever been offered by a 70-foot sports yacht.

The stylist has created a very modern interior using light, silky and luminous timbers. The yacht is expansive and comfortable yet is organized to provide private quiet areas. The clean, minimalist lines can be seen throughout the yacht’s finishes given an ambience of uncomplicated, uncompromising elegance. This blend of materials and machine gives you solid footing at anchor or at speed.

This dynamic yacht has beauty and brawn. Built to Bureau Veritas / USL 1E and 2C survey standards and utilizing Seemann Composites Resin Infusion Molding Process (SCRIMP), the sports yacht is light and strong. The Aquabay 70 comes standard with an extensive range of standard features and inclusions that are optional in other yachts.

With so many design, engineering and stylish features, the Aquabay 70 opens up a realm of possibilities, destinations, experiences and appeals to your goal of the grand adventure. The only thing missing is the European price tag and the warranty problems.

Accommodations

The Aquabay offers 3 guest cabins, plus crew. The Australian designers wanted to create a yacht that offered the style and speeds of sport yachts but also include features found in much larger yachts. This blend of amenities gives owners the space and amenties of a cruising yacht in a design that gives both great looks, interior and exterior space, and great speeds in a very solid package.
The Aquabay 70 had its debut at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in Australia and was a hit with the attendees. The stylish interior was subtle with elegant features that were not simply design, but function-oriented as well. The main salon entry is designed to start that feeling the instant you come on the aft deck. The usual response from a new person aboard is to turn around and look out the main salon doors and open counter to the port side, then turn to the main salon spread out before them and say "Wow".
To port the main salon has an L-Shaped wet bar counter and engine room access door hidden below. This opens onto the aft deck with a flip-up window so that the entire main salon is open to the aft deck.
The main salon is designed to be an open and inviting area for owners and guests.
Rather than define the saloon and cockpit into separate distinct areas, the rear doors open completely to create one space. The versatile area provides you place to relax in the sun, entertain guests or mix an evening cocktail from the fully equipped bar and second galley. All the tables onboard can be adjusted to function as dining or coffee tables with ample, easily accessible storage.

The retractable sunroof and rear awning allows you to simultaneously control the natural light in the saloon and the direct sunlight into the cockpit. The surrounding environment blends seamlessly with the interior and the visibility from the helm is superb.

The accommodation and fully equipped galley is located below the forward deck. The open ambience of the saloon is continued as large portholes and windows bath the cabins in natural light enhancing the tones in the timber finishes. Depending on your needs, there are three or four cabin accommodation layouts and crew quarters are standard in both. Every cabin has individual entertainment systems, a beautifully appointed ensuite and is full climate controlled.

Moving out onto the deck, the flexibility continues. The cockpit lounge and dining area has four separate configurations electronically controlled to allow for every occasion - sun bathing, morning coffee or a la carte dining. Walking along the generous side decks, the foredeck features the luxurious sun lounge. More than just a sun bed, the lounge has a table creating the perfect setting to watch the sun go down with a your favorite cocktail.

Galley

Located just down to the starboard side of helm, this down-galley is designed to offer bright light from above through the windshield and portlight. This L-shaped space offers full size appliances and good storage for comfortable cruising. While this style of yacht might designed for short hops, The Aquabay is designed to offer you the same features you might see of larger cruising yachts in a much more stylish layout.

Electrical System

Ships systems are provided for by the 33 KW Northern Lights Generator. A large battery bank for overnights will run fridges and ice makers

Electronics and Navigational Equipment

The helm has been done to create the wrap-around feeling of a sports car, giving you the information on each screen and also keeping visibility open. Centered in front of the 3 command chairs, it gives the helmsman visibility forward and the instrumentation for all weather conditions. Radar, chartplotting, cameras, and other systems are in reach and well-thought out to make operation smooth. Designed to please captains and owners that like good sight lines, clean instrumentation, and information at their finger tips. Whether running at speed or backing into a slip, Aquabay worked to make the operation of the yacht as simple as possible and owners happy to take their yachts out for an afternoon or an extended cruise.

Deck

One of the best features aboard, this is where the yacht really shines. The foredeck is no longer a place that no one ever really goes, but is a focal point for guests to retire to and relax. Designed with this in mind, the architects created a space that few yachts of this size bother with using intelligently. Where else would you want to sit at sunset?
The Aquabay 70 features a tender garage aft with a door that lifts up to allow the tender to slide out the back of the boat.

  • Large anchor locker
  • Fresh water wash down
  • Foredeck settee area
  • Teak decks or non-skid
  • Large swim platform
  • Fresh water transom shower
  • Convertible awning
  • Salon doors and opening windows

Remarks

As you can see from the photos, the Aquabay 70 is an impressive and stout yacht. The Aquabay is able to incorporate luxury materials, naval architecture, and SCRIMP technology to build a yacht that is versitile in different climates. It even allows you to step away from the traditional styling that everyone else seems to think they need. The designers not only looked at how the yacht would perform in sunny conditions but also make specs for rain and low visibility conditions. This is a yacht that can handle the shallows of the Bahamas, the rough conditions of the Pacific, and the prestige and sleek looks to tie up to the quay in Monaco.

The Aquabay 70 is designed to leave the shipyard and need only minor commissioning before going cruise-ready. Many professionals come together from Australia and the United States, from designers to technicians, to watch this yacht leave its berth and head out to go play. We enjoy seeing our yachts go cruising and seeing them out at their destinations having a great time. We do this by running the yacht before it leaves the shipyard and then go through the commissioning list a second time before the owner uses the boat. The Aquabay 70 is not only a great looking yacht but one that has a solid warranty and service backing, and professionals that work to see it perform the best in the years to follow.

This Aquabay 70 is a fantastic deal for someone that would like to build a semi-custom yacht and own a beautiful yacht created with their own tastes in mind. Priced to the market and seriously for sale, this Aquabay 70 will turn heads where ever it goes.

Give us a call to discuss additional options such as hull color, interior wood selections such as teak or cherry, and how to purchase this yacht and get it delivered and commissioned. A typical transaction involves a downpayment with progress payments at construction milestones, such as hull completion, engines in place, furniture in place, and a final sea trial to address any last minute items that need tweaking. The yacht is paid for and shipped for final commissioning at its new home port and delivered. Warranties are activated and you go play with your boat! The shipyard has relationships on both coasts and internationally for service on their yachts, having attended numerous shows from Spain to Australia to network with other marine partners.

Here is an opportunity to get a high quality yacht for a fantastic price.
