REMARKS

PINK GIN is a performance optimized cruising yacht custom built at BALTIC YACHTS for a seasoned yacht owner. The build quality, engineering and design of PINK GIN has been well tested and enjoyed by her one owner in over 200,000 miles of sailing worldwide. Her current condition shows remarkably well which is a testament to the quality and design excellence built into this superb sailing yacht. One of the most notable and unique traits of this large yacht is the responsive helm from her massive rudder and direct cable steering.

Lighter displacement, performance hull design and the responsive direct steering of PINK GIN is a unique feature in the choices available in larger sailing yachts.

INTERIOR ACCOMMODATIONS

PINK GIN was designed by JUDEL / VROLIJK naval architects while her interior layout and décor a product of DESIGN UNLIMITED, UK. The result is a fast hull with a commodious interior allowing 4 double owner/guest staterooms and 1 children’s cabin mostly forward and ample crew areas for 6 crew aft. The interior is nautical, and contemporary without being cold using mahogany woods, leather, and light colors.

Accommodations include 3 double staterooms forward of the saloon with an additional children’s cabin and one large VIP stateroom just aft of the saloon area. Galley and crew are aft.

The owner’s area includes a full suite all the way forward with a large stateroom, head/shower and sauna compartment plus a double single bunk children’s cabin. The headroom, ventilation and noise reduction in the bow is impressive and allows the owner to have an enormous private area that can be closed off to the rest of the yacht.

Aft of this private owners suite are 2 VIP Cabins, to starboard with an island double berth and the opposite VIP with twin single berths. Both have ensuite head/shower compartments and ample storage. These staterooms are just aft of the mast so relatively comfortable in a seaway.

The 4th Stateroom is a large VIP aft of the Saloon located under the forward cockpit and serves well as the owner’s seagoing stateroom with a large double berth and head/shower area, seating sofa and bureau work area. This is a great owners seagoing cabin.

PINK GIN has upper and lower large saloons using this space to allow a formal dining area plus a lower saloon as well as upper seating areas with visibility and views out of the raised saloon. The navigation and communication equipment is located on the starboard side of the upper saloon.

The Galley aboard PINK GIN is an allimportant area and has produced some 5 star meals over the years. Compact and well designed, her Galley is on port side aft of the saloons and includes 3 work areas for cooking, prepping and cleaning. New refrigeration systems line the aft end of the galley as well as a fully refrigerated walk in pantry room. Crew accommodations include a crew mess area plus 3 double cabins and 2 head/showers. A navigation station is at the base of the companionway leading to the aft cockpit between the steering stations. Engineroom access is aft and under the saloon forward of the galley via watertight door. The headroom in the engine room is full height amidships.

PINK GIN on deck is a delight with a large guest cockpit forward and working cockpit with helm station aft. She has a retrousse transom with a central drop down platform allowing access to the ocean and for tender boarding, a full dive locker, huge central lazarette and hydraulic articulating gangway both from her stern and off her starboard side. Tender storage is on the foredeck within a molded well specific to contain a large tender quickly deployed using a carbon pole and halyard.

The layout and design work well and offer significant handholds and safety all over the yacht while using all of her 151 feet of length to offer significant volume and comfort options. The classic design belies a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” in terms of her performance on the wind as well as off. She has racked up some notable performance numbers in offshore passages. A true performance sailing yacht with superb accommodations, comfort and safety systems as well as quality and pedigree.

The owner is reluctantly offering PINK GIN V for sale to make room for his new BALTIC YACHT 175 to be delivered in 2017 which will be named – PINK GIN VI.

The name PINK GIN is reserved and not sold with this yacht.

HULL

The hull is of a Sandwich construction built off a male plug. The laminates are Epoxy Prepregvacuum consolidated laminates, and are cured at 8085°C to achieve the best possible strength and resin ratio. The inner skin is constructed primarily of Unidirectional Carbon, Woven Carbon and Biax Carbon. The outer skin is constructed primarily of Eglass and Aramid. A layer of Kevlar woven fibers is used in the forefoot of the hull laminate for added impact resistance. The sandwich material used is CoreCell foam.

The Hull below waterline is painted and protected with Epoxy primer plus three coatings of antifouling paint. Antifouling paint is International Micron 77 Black.

The Transom has an opening to form a swim platform/boarding point (A carbon removable swim ladder is supplied). The Transom has 2 hatches, on the Port side is a retractable/folding gangway and the Starboard side is for shore side connections (Electrical/Water/Ethernet).

A hydraulic sideboarding ladder is incorporated on Starboard side and folds out and down from the hull topsides.

Lifting keel. The keel lifts to allow shallower draft for access to cruising areas while offering deep draft performance offshore.

The top part of the keel (keelfin) is Stainless Steel construction.

The bulb is constructed of lead and bolted to the keelfin with caste Stainless Steel bolts.

Lowering and lifting of the keel is by means of a hydraulic cylinder recessed into the keelfin and attached to a strong beam at the top of the keel box. Proper bearings and keel position locking cylinders are provided.

Rudder and Rudder Stock

The cantilevered semielliptical balanced spade rudder is moulded from Epoxy/Carbon laminates around a CoreCell foam.

Rudder Stock:

The rudderstock and rudder blade are made of high strength, Carbon Epoxy construction using a "VacuumPress" manufacturing system. The rudderstock is tapered and dimensioned to the corresponding bending moments in order to minimize weight. The rudderstock passes through Edson selfaligning roller bearings and stuffing box, which is strongly bounded to the hull.

Hull Windows

Hull windows are constructed from Stainless Steel frames and are openable. The Glass is of a dark grey colour. Windows are located according to Design Unlimited.

The pulpit is fitted with navigation lights and the push pit with a stern light. The height of pulpits, stanchions spacing distance etc. conforms to O.R.C. requirements. There are Gates in the lifelines on both Port and Starboard.

A Spray hood is provided for fore and aft companionway. The Spray hoods are made of waterproof and sun resistant canvas. The fore Spray hood storage in the down position is recessed in deckhouse. High quality marine standard hardware and fastenings are used throughout.

Finishing: The Deck super structure is painted with Awlgrip Oyster/Pure White (90/10 Mix).

There is Teak on the side decks, cockpit floors, seats, coamings and on the pilothouse. The teak is epoxy glued to the fiber deck using vacuum bagging technique. No screws and plugs used except for in the centerpieces and the outboard parts.
