Broker's Comments:
Likely one of the better constructed production boats, the 42s7 is known for it's stellar light air performance. This, along with the 3 cabin layout make for an all around winner.
All sails are 2017 or newer. Inventory includes Mainsail, 140 Genoa and Jib. The main is equipped with lazy jacks and the head sails are handled via newer roller furling.
Diesel power is a Volvo MD22L that is equipped with a flexible coupling which allows the engine and transmission to shift and reduces felt vibration. The engine has an estimated 5000 hours, the meter failed at 4645 hours. A 20" 3 blade Flex-O-Fold propeller reduces drag while under sail.
The owner brought the boat to Florida in 2020 from Texas. She was trucked to St Petersburg and then sailed to her present location in Marco Island. When the keel stepped mast was down, the owner had all standing rigging inspected. A new forestay and intermediate shrouds were installed.
The keel is cast iron, bolted on with oversized stainless steel bolts. It is a spade shape with a bulb and wings, with 5' 11" draft. The rudder is all composite.
The spacious interior has been kept in impressive condition. The cabinets and bulkheads are pearwood veneer. The softgoods are in excellent condition. Aft are two staterooms, forward is the master cabin with pullman berth and head forward. The 2 heads have toilets that are flushed via Whale pumps instead of the traditional electric toilets.
Both the owner and wife work full-time. Therefore, their weekends are spent sailing whenever possible. As such, no time or care is spared in maintaining the boat in sail-away condition.
A 9' 6" Saturn inflatable with a Suzuki 4hp outboard is available for purchase separately.
