Overview
Gone Coastal is a well-maintained example of one of the finest medium-sized sport fishing boats ever made. The Bertram pedigree is well-known and this 38 holds the line. A well-appointed interior with 2 cabins that sleep four, 1 head with separate shower and full galley make the 38 an ideal cruising boat for the family or a safe fishing boat for offshore. Gone Coastal has many upgrades in interior comforts, such as new cushions, custom flooring, new fridge/freezer; as well as updated electronics, bridge canvas, new Aquamat 22 shafts, fresh props and new bottom paint.

In addition to, new Aquamet 22 shafts, new cutlass bearings, refit shaft logs and fresh props (port and starboard), Also, hull sides polishes and waxed, fresh bottom paint, new zincs and Velox underwater hardware treatment.

Master Stateroom
The Bertram 38 has a generous master stateroom forward which includes two (2) berths 84"x44" with center insert. There are two (2) hanging lockers six (6) drawers for ample storage space. There are book shelves and night-stand shelves for each berth. There is also a vanity and wash stand in the master stateroom, including a medicine cabinet. For ventilation, there is an overhead hatch and two (2) opening ports, all screened. There is also 36" of cabin extended area for dressing.
Guest Stateroom 1
The Bertram 38 includes a second stateroom which sleeps two (2) in over/under bunks 76" x 36". The second stateroom includes shelves and a dressing seat, along with a hanging locker and shelves. There is an opening port in the second stateroom which is screened.
Guest Head
The Bertram 38 head is spacious by any standard at 56" wide by 54" in length. The head includes the separate shower area (37" x 32" with seat and opening port, screened). The marine toilet is a Raritan Crown electric head with raw water flush. The vanity is well-lighted and includes a medicine cabinet.
Salon
The Bertram 38 has a large main salon (10'6" x 10') with galley along the starboard side. The main salon includes two (2) bent bamboo love seats which can be configured as facing over the hi-low table or placed end-to-end to form a couch 88" long. The love seats received new Sunbrella cushions in 2017. There is a 20" Vizio cable-ready flat screen TV with DVD player and digital antenna.
Galley
The galley features a U-line frost-free refrigerator/freezer (Model 1224 RFB) installed new in 2017. A new stainless steel sink (16" x 20" x 10" deep) and Moen faucet were also installed in 2017. There is a large pantry for dried food storage and under-sink storage for cleaning supplies. The stove is a Princess 3 burner model with oven and broiler and includes a cutting board top. Additional counter-top appliances include a Whirlpool compact microwave oven (750 watts, new in 2016) and a Black & Decker toaster oven (new in 2017). There are six (6) additional drawers in the galley area for cupboard storage.
Fly Bridge
The Bertram 38 features a tournament-style flybridge which offers excellent views of both the foredeck area and the cockpit area. There is seating for seven (7) adults, with a full-width bench seat in front of the helm area and a side seat and helm seat. The overhead electronics box includes a Garmin echoMap DV chart plotter/depth sounder (8" screen, new in 2017), a Furuno GPS Navigator GP-31, an Icom IC M422 and Icom IC M502 VHF radios and a Fusion MS-IP600 stereo with Blue Tooth. Additional electronics include a Raymarine C 120 unit with DS 50 depth sounder, chart plotter and closed-array radar. The flybridge also includes a four-sided enclosure and hardtop.
Safety Equipment
Gone Coastal is equipped with the best safety equipment available and is up-to-date and inspected. There are eight (8) Type I PFDs and four (4) Type III children's PFDs. There are two (2) Type IV life rings with 50' of floating line attached to each. One is lighted with a water-activated strobe. There is a six-person Viking life raft with hydrostatic release (new in 2016) and a Type II ERIRB registered and installed on the flybridge (new in 2018).
Fire protection includes two (2) 10-pound dry chemical fire extinguishers in the main salon, one five-pound dry chemical unit in the master stateroom and a five-pound dry chemical unit on the flybridge. In addition, there is a fixed CO2 fire suppression system in the engine spaces (inspected and hydro'd in 2018).
Gone Coastal is also equipped with four (4) electric bilge pumps; one up forward, two in the engine spaces and one in the cockpit lazarette. Three of the pumps are 2000 GPH and equipped with float switches.
Navigation lights on Gone Coastal are all LED, replaced over the last two years. Interior and engine room lighting has been converted to all LED bulbs in the last year. All 120 volt AC outlet receptacles are GFCI with circuit breakers.
Ground tackle includes a Fortress FX 23 anchor secured in on-deck chocks with 30' of chain and 300' of 3/4 nylon anchor line. Spare anchors include a Danforth anchor and rode and a yachtsman anchor and rode.
Finally, Gone Coastal includes a spare set of 24" x 24" three-bladed bronze props recently serviced, balanced and Velux painted.
