Overview

If you are looking for a simple, affordable fishing battleship, then the PROVIDER may be right up your alley. Built in Marshallberg, NC by Buddy Harris, this rig is built heavy duty and made to stand the test of time. She was christened as the Gannet in Virginia Beach and later saw lots of time out of Hatteras and Oregon Inlet. She is a proven sea boat and is built for the sole purpose of fishing comfortably. She is powered by a pair of 430 Volvos, fresh topside paint, new wiring throughout and is very clean and well kept. She runs great, cruises 20 knots and is easy on the fuel. Also, plenty of space throughout for a potential repower or refit / upgrades of any kind. Spare wheels, spare shafts, an entire spare motor and lots of spare parts and components come with the deal. The current owner has done well keeping her up but is ready to let her go. Give us a call to check out this classic old school charter style rig!

LAYOUT AND OVERVIEW

The PROVIDER has spent it's entire life as an offshore charter boat. She is a 'big' boat for her size. She has a giant cockpit with a 3 chair layout, ice boxes, bait box and storage against the bulkhead. The salon is the traditional open plan with tackle drawers, cabinetry and large cushioned benches on either side and a dinette on the port forward end. Open dash, new windows and storage throughout.

Downstairs is simple as well with a giant head and space to port, large closet ahead of that, a 4 bunk V-Berth layout forward and a large berth to starboard. Rod and tackle storage abound on the walls and ceilings.

The bridge is a center console layout with a single helm chair, electronics console and engine gauges at helm center.

Engine room is large and easy to get around in. Good access to filters, belts, Racors, etc. Also plenty of room fore, aft and outboard for a potential repower if someone wanted to get 25 knot cruise.

SUMMARY

PROVIDER is an old school charter boat that has great potential in many areas and in many applications. She would work great as-is, operating in the charter industry in many fishing destinations. Big, economical and easy to maintain, she'd do the job offshore for the closer runs and could be the queen of the fleet and a real comfortable money maker in an inshore situation.

For the buyer with a vision and a little budget, you could repower and refit this rig to any level desired. It would not take a lot for the right guy to pump a little life into this rig and take her to Costa Rica, Guatemala, South Florida, Mexico or the Bahamas and have a sturdy dependable rig for years to come without breaking the bank. Check her out.
