Overview
The owner has taken exceptional care of this boat and it looks much younger than its age would suggest. The engine has also been meticulously cared for and has very low hours (360) on its Westerbeke engine. With its many updates (see list) this is an exceptional deal.
The dimensions of the Cal 28 are generous to accommodate a livable interior, but were arrived at to insure good sailing performance. The Cal 28 is a performance cruiser promising owner satisfaction at the club racing level, day sailing or on a weekend getaway. The generous, beam of 10'3" assures stability as well as providing room below and generously wide decks. The beam narrows at the waterline to lessen wetted surface while still offering initial stability.
The sail-plan shows a performance-oriented double spreader rig on a substantial mast with its upper section tapered for lighter weight aloft and better sail-shape. There are fore and aft lower shrouds to reduce mast pumping and eliminate the need for a baby-stay.
The Cal 28 is a quiet blend of traditional and contemporary designs and materials and is a fun family boat for weekend getaways or for some fun club racing.

The forward stateroom has a V-berth with filler and storage to port, next aft is the dinette with an L-shaped convertible settee to port, a single convertible settee to starboard and a center mounted 2 leaf table. Aft the galley is to port and the navigation station to starboard. Furthest aft to port is a large double berth and the enclosed head is to starboard.
