Chris Craft made only 51 of these 19 foot white Special Racing Runabouts and there are believed to be only 8 built the blue and white racing design.
Chris Craft felt that this design was the most superb example in their lineup from an ergonomic standpoint given their ability to handle the water. These boats are fun and fast. It received a new no-soak west system bottom making this boat is ready to launch at a moment's notice.
The boat was later compressively restored by well-known, award-winning restorer Jim Murdock of Vintage boats in Bristol Connecticut, and is a shining example of his work and would receive high scores at any boat show. Absolutely exquisite from bow to stern, you will turn heads everywhere you go.
A limited production model, only 51 Special Race Boats were built by Chris Craft between 1936 and 1937.
The company believed that the design was one of the most elegant and capable models in production. Fast and fun to drive, the 19 Special Race Boat leaps out of the water and is equally striking at idle speed. Its sharp blue and white paint scheme was a departure from the norm of stained and varnished mahogany, and reflective of the art deco era.
This example has been comprehensively restored by Vintage Boats of Bristol, CT, and is in exceptional condition. Repowered with a Chris Craft 283cid engine, she runs smooth and is a joy to drive. Complete with a custom-built and color-matched single axle trailer!
