Aft of the first watertight bulkhead is the main crew accommodation area, comprising of 5 twin bunk bedded cabins accommodating two crew in each. On the starboard side is a large crew mess that can seat 18 at the same time. A large laundry with clothes washing and drying machines is also on the starboard side. A large and well equipped commercial galley is located on the port side. To starboard are two walk-in refrigerators and a walk in freezer. |
With separate access from the main deck lobby, there are four guest cabins, two doubles and two twins with Pullman berths, all with en suite shower rooms and large wardrobes. These cabins are all fitted with the latest 82cm Samsung Smart TV. |
A watertight, insulated bulkhead separates the engine room from the accommodation area. The engine room contains the main engines and pumping equipment. A control room is located aft of the engine room, containing control and monitoring equipment. The monitoring equipment is duplicated in the Wheelhouse and in the crew mess area. |
Aft of the control room, there is a separate generator room housing two main diesel generators, the main air-conditioning plant and other auxiliary equipment with a workshop area. |
Aft of the engine room through an insulated bulkhead on the starboard side is a walk in fridge and the Lazarette. This contains two Jet Bikes, two Sea Bobs, one Windsurf, dive equipment, fuel stations, a watertight door to the stern platform and the gantry crane. |
To port lie the two further crew cabins for Engineers, one double and one twin, both with en suite shower rooms. These cabins are fully air-conditioned and have compartments to house personal belongings. They are all equipped with telephones, music and television systems connected to the central entertainment system. |
MAIN DECK |
The large foredeck has, in addition to the two anchor windlasses, stowage for the M.C.A. approved Rescue Boat and launching crane. A watertight deck hatch leads down to the chain store and Bosun's locker with stowage for fenders and lines etc. |
The emergency room is located
in the superstructure forward to starboard, which contains an emergency
generator, fire pump controls and the Minimax sprinkler system. To port is
the CO2 Storage for engine room fire suppression, fire flap control and further
Bosun's stores. |
The Owner's cabin consists of a double cabin with a separate walk in dressing room and bathroom. There is a Samsung Smart TV, Sky TV and Sony Hi-Fi. |
Walking aft from the Owner's cabin there are two twin staterooms with pullman berths all having en suite bathrooms and large wardrobes. |
This area is separated from the Owner’s accommodation by a privacy door. |
Just aft of this to starboard there is a security office with high tech monitoring equipment and to port is a guest head and a Sat cabinet (Sat console, servers, modem, etc.). |
A cross passageway and stair well separates the guest accommodation forward from a centre fore and aft passageway, with the family saloon/television room to starboard and the Owner's study to port. |
Aft from this area the spacious main saloon provides various comfortable seating areas including three settees, a round games table and the bar. |
Sliding doors give access to the aft boat deck with steps leading to the swim platform or passerelle. |
BRIDGE DECK / SUN DECK |
The Wheelhouse is situated forward and is fitted with sophisticated navigation, communication and monitoring equipment. Access to the Captain's cabin is via a corridor. This contains a double bed with a Pullman berth and shower room en suite. |
On the port side aft of the bridge is the pantry. This has a dumb waiter from the galley below and ideally located giving good access to the dining saloon. |
Moving aft there are two staff cabins with one fixed berth and one Pullman berth each with shower room en suite. One of the staff cabins has a pantry store added during the refit in 2015. There is also one single crew cabin with shower room en suite. |
Through an insulated door, there are two further guest cabins/private meeting rooms, each with shower rooms en suite. There is another separate guest head located adjacent to the dining saloon. |
Moving further aft is the new dining saloon forms part of the refit work carried out by Abeking and Rasmussen in Bremen. This area has full-height windows making it very light with good visibility. The dining saloon is fully air-conditioned, although large doors open for fresh air if required. Seating at the table is for 8 to 12, or possibly up to 14. |
Exiting from the dining saloon through electric sliding doors gives access to a large and comfortable, partially shaded alfresco deck area. |
Stairs on either side of the dining room lead to the huge upper sundeck, which makes an excellent and private sunning area. The Jacuzzi is forward with sun cushions on either side. There is a wet bar and barbecue along with fridge and ice storage. |
Moving aft a large dining table with sunshades makes the perfect luncheon area with panoramic views. This area can also be cleared to allow for helicopter operations. 15. COMMENTS |
SOKAR is presently in her third ownership since her launch and has been maintained well by each owner. Built by a respectable Italian yard she incorporates three main factors amongst many – a global range in excess of 6,000nm, performance of 15 knots cruising with a maximum speed of 20 knots and accommodation for up to 18 guests in 9 cabins. |
Her interior style is timeless with fine marquetry, exquisite marbles and a layout that is functional with easy tender launch and access. She has always been enjoyed privately, as such, is on a private register but kept in line with compliancy to convert to commercial should this option be required. |
SOKAR is a classic of her time capable of exploring afar, chartering and now at a point where she represents an opportunity for value too. |
