Overview

“Grand Slam" Classic 36’

Hull number 276 of 365 built by “American Marine” known as “Grand Banks"

During 1963-1973 “Grand Banks" were made in Hong Kong. Over 365 were built there. Highly regarded woodenboat builders, these vessels were built with yacal frames (yacal is a termite resistant and very strong hardwood) mahogany hulls, and decks with high quality teak throughout. From 1974 and beyond “Grand Banks” were built of fiberglass in the Singapore yards.

Capable, reliable and economical, "Grand Slam” is ready to cruise north to San Juan’s, Canada, Alaska or wherever you point the compass. From the very first glance, it is easy to see that this Grand Banks has been loved and meticulously maintained and is outfitted for cruising and sitting on an anchor away from the crowds.

Handsome golden Burmese teak was used both above and below deck, a Grand Banks trademark that repeats itself throughout this yacht, and is much higher quality than modern laminates used. When boarded you’ll see glossy teak parquet on the cabin soles and handcrafted teak bar and drawer space, yacht table, settee, and much storage or your voyage throughout the salon, including a second fridge/ice box under the settee. As for personal comfort take a few steps aft and visit below it’s easy to see why this comfortable cruiser is so popular in the PNW, the generous aft master stateroom has been custom refit with queen berth, full head with shower rebuilt, added hanging locker and chest of drawers with the added touch of a Dickinson “Antarctic" diesel heater to create a flickering flame and dry heat throughout the yacht. Forward stateroom has a large hanging locker and plenty of drawer space for extras, a second head, and a v-berth that, with added pad, turns into a double bunk for guests.

This is one of the sought-after 36’ Banks that have a second set of increasing seating and entertaining areas.
