Overview

Owner has health issues and says "Sell Immediately"! This Yacht is in very good condition and the $76,000 Price Reduction is unrelated to any change in the condition. You will unlikely find a nicer example of this Classic Grand Banks 50 for any price.

This 1974 Grand Banks 50 Europa is the last of 63 Woodies built by Grand Banks, and her current and previous owners have maintained her to an incredibly high standard; as though blessed with an obligation to preserve a national treasure. Canoe Island is the second home to a very knowledgeable and experienced boat owner who searched for over 20 years before finding and buying the best Grand Banks 50 of its era. Come aboard and any expectation that she will be only slightly larger than a Grand Banks 42 or 46 will quickly be dispelled when the reality sets in that Canoe Island is really a small ship! At 60 Gross Tons and 48 Net Tons, powered with twin John Deer 6-Cylinder Naturally-Aspirated 130hp Diesels, and a fuel capacity to yield over a 1,000-mile range, these models have proven to be world cruisers.

This yacht has been constantly updated and following are some of the upgrades done in the last few years:

She is berthed at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina in a highly desirable slip that is transferable to the new owner so you won't have to be like others who are on an 18-month waiting list for slips at this perfect downtown location. If you are looking for a 3 Bed/3 Bath Waterfront home, capable of cruising when you decide to escape for a while, then Canoe Island is worth inspecting.

Call today to schedule a personal inspection before you lose this opportunity to own one of the great classic yachts available on the market today.

Hull and Deck

No one made wooden hulls of the quality of Grand Banks in the 1970's. Canoe Island has had the best of care over the years, including some minor preventive bottom re-planking in 2014 when last hauled for bottom paint and a survey by a well-respected experienced SAMS Accredited Marine Surveyor. Her more recent in-the-water survey was completed in May 2015 and all surveyor recommendations were followed and remedied. The current owner has made many improvements and upgrades since that time.
