Overview

One of the most popular tournament convertibles ever produced, the Hatteras 46 was built on the single-chine Hatteras 45 hull, a proven bottom design with a deep, full-length keel and modest transom deadrise. Aside from being an excellent fisherman with good open-water handling characteristics, her comfortable interior accommodations--with its traditional teak woodwork--made the 46 a popular boat with cruisers. The standard two-stateroom floor- plan had the galley down and a spacious salon with wraparound cabin windows. It even has (washer/dryer.) In a significant update, a sliding door replaced the original hinged salon door in 1982. The original 46 Convertible was powered with 8V71TIs and will cruise at 19-20 knots (about 23 knots top).
