Overview
SirenS is a 1979 53 Yacht Fisherman,
Series I. Introduced by Hatteras in 1978, she was described as
"a versatile cruiser" with a
"carefully planned marriage of cockpit convenience to motor yacht
comfort." The vessels were built on the same proven hull as the
53 Motor Yacht. There were optional floor plans available; SirenS is
the 3 stateroom/3 head floor plan. The mid stateroom was built as an
office, with a privacy door. A companionway door makes that stateroom
ensuite to the master stateroom. It could be refitted to include a
berth. SirenS has spacious and comfortable exterior spaces, is easy to
maneuver around with wide sidewalks and two helm doors, and classic
Hatteras interior spaces, with an updated galley.
The sky-blue bimini top was new in May, 2021. The teak handrails were
refinished in the Spring of 2021. SirenS made the trip from Palm Coast,
FL to Vero Beach, FL in June, 2021 and the engines and mechanicals are
functioned properly.
In Greek mythology, the Sirens lured sailors with their enchanting music
and singing voices; they were thought to be able to charm the wind. Will
you be charmed by SirenS?

CONSTRUCTION - INFORMATION PROVIDED BY BUILDER
The Hatteras 53' Yacht Fisherman is constructed of molded polyester
resin with woven E-type fiberglass cloth. The boat has a solid
fiberglass bottom and deep keel; hull sides are of a sandwiched
construction cored with balsa, as are the decks. The four full length
stringers are fiberglass over a foam core glassed to the hull. Engine
beds are 5" aluminum channel bolted to the stringers. The hull to deck
joint is a "shoe box" style which is chemically and mechanically
fastened. There are three watertight, marine plywood bulkheads glassed
to the hull. While all Hatteras models come out of the mold with a gel
coat finish, the factory then paints the boat for a more attractive and
durable finish.
VESSEL WALK THROUGH
The cockpit on SirenS can be boarded from the swim platform via a door
in the transom, over the gunnels into the cockpit, or at the port or
starboard amidship boarding gates. There are teak steps to the covered
raised aft deck. Dual teak doors on the centerline provide access to the
salon. Wing doors on either side allow access to the side decks, and
forward to the bow. A ladder to starboard leads to the flybridge.
The
interior helm is on centerline forward of the salon. The doors on
either side provide additional access to the side decks and to the bow.
A
curved staircase to starboard leads into the galley and dinette. An
ensuite stateroom with over/under bunks is forward. A companionway,
between the two separate engine rooms is aft. A door closes the entire
aft interior space to the rest of the vessel. The mid stateroom is to
port. Two heads, with a shared shower stall, are to starboard. The
master stateroom, with a private access to the head is aft.
Salon
Surrounded by large windows on all sides, the salon of SirenS allows for
fantastic views while cruising. Two of the windows, with screens, can
be opened for ventilation. The area measures 15' x 11' in and is
approximately 165 sf. It features: two reclining chairs with a table and
lamp to starboard, a full sized free-standing sofa to port, a wood
coffee table, and a carpeted sole. The interior is the classic teak
finish throughout, as with all Hatteras yachts of this era. Some of the
teak does need refinishing.
The entertainment center is aft, to port, with a flat screen TV, and VCR and CD players.
The lower helm is forward in the salon, on centerline.

Temp., Volt Meter), Richie Wet Compass, (3) Windshield Wipers, Manual

the rest of the vessel. The office features a large desktop area, with a
space built-in for a chair. The sole is carpeted. Two opening
