Caterpillar Advantage Platinum Warranty is good until September 2017!!!
April 2016- Just out of the yard for spring maintenance. Fresh bottom paint, fuel tanks polished, hullsides waxed, buffed and polished, all running gear updated, helm hairs and fighting chair wood removed and re-varnished and finished like new. This is the way this boat has been kept. She is "one of those boats". If you understand that term, then you understand what we are offering.
The "JMC" began her life as the Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales' (now part of Bluewater Yacht Sales) dealer demo boat, featured in a few regional boat shows and fished in a few local tournaments before being sold as new to her current owner in the Fall of 2007. The boat has received the very best of care and maintained by both the dealership and her owner. The owner has employed a full-time captain and crew for the entire period of his ownership, and the boat is kept in excellent condition at all times- washed and shammied after each use, full detail and polishing (including the tower) 2-3 times per year. This care is obvious, and most people who see the boat assume she is much newer. "JMC" has been used primarily as a day-boat and has rarely even been slept in. She has spent her summers in Virginia Beach, VA and the majority of her winters in Charleston, SC. It is a very rare day that she is not attended to in some fashion.
"JMC" is powered with the preferred CAT C-32 1650hp option (2800 hours), which gives her an easy cruise at 33 knots if desired, and 39-40 knots on the pins. Other notable features include: Pipewelders tuna tower with controls, Rupp outriggers and center rigger, electric teaser reels, Pompanette teak fighting chair with rocket launchers (plus the ladderback which has never been used), new Dometic chipped ice machine (late 2015), plumbed and wired for watermaker, 2nd fuel transfer pump installed, High Seas electronics package (see full specs), SAT TV system, 42' flat screen TV in salon, 20" LCD TVs in master and VIP staterooms, 2nd 50 amp power inlet and cord (in addition to the cable master cord and inlet), new LCD underwater lights, in-step refrigerated drink box, new custom settee and ottoman in salon, new enclosure, shaft tubes, forward and aft facing spreader lights, lockable rod storage on flybridge, custom rod storage locker in master stateroom, and the list goes on...
This boat has to be seen to be believed. Easily one of the nicest production sportfishing yachts of her vintage anywhere. Owner is looking to move up and is seeking offers. Reasonable seller!
"JMC" has the standard layout which consists of 3 staterooms, 2 heads with galley up. When Hatteras introduced this model in 2002, it was an instant success. Not just because of the incredible fast and comfortable ride on its convex hull, but also because of the innovative interior layout. Until this model, most sportfishing yachts of her size offered an over/under 3rd stateroom arrangement, which is not nearly as comfortable and usable as the Hatteras 54' twin berth arrangement.
Entering the salon from the cockpit, the new custom Vanbrunts Upholstery L-shaped settee and ottoman are to port. (Vanbrunts is the company that most high-end custom boat-builders in Wanchese, NC use for their interiors). The settee and ottoman combined offer 4 very large storage spaces for tackle and/or cruising gear, and come with hinged and gas-assisted access. Very nice!
Forward to port is the U-shaped galley with twin sub-zero drawer-style refrigerators and freezers. The microwave and other storage areas are hidden behind beautiful cherry-wood cabinetry, and the cooktop has never been used. Hatteras did an excellent job with the design of this galley- every bit of available space is utilized for storage by building in extra-deep cabinets with long drawers. This allows the use of space never before reachable. Across from the dinette is the galley, and the large flat-screen TV is located along the starboard side of the salon- much different from most of her sisterships which have the TV located above the dinette. "JMC"'s layout just makes so much more sense.
Below is the master stateroom with private ensuite head to port. The master includes a walk-around queen berth with cedar-lined storage beneath, a large double-door closet that has been modified to cleverly store rods as well as clothes (also cedar-lined), flat-screen TV, separate climate control (pesky lighted control hidden in the closet), two bedside tables with drawers, and additional drawer storage forward. The private head is quite roomy and offers a large stall shower, amtico flooring, solid-surface countertop, and vanity.
Across from the master is the roomy "3rd stateroom". This stateroom offers a private entrance into the guest head, a large cedar-lined closet, and two twin berths that are large enough so that 2 grown men would be comfortable in sharing the stateroom.
The VIP stateroom is in the bow and offers a centerline queen berth with storage beneath, two hanging lockers, abundant cabinet and drawer storage, separate ac controls, and private access to the guest head. This stateroom also houses the full-size over/under washer and dryer.
The guest head services both guest staterooms and also serves as the day head. Like the master, it is very roomy and offers a large stall shower, solid-surface countertop, amtico flooring, and large vanity.
"JMC" has never really been "lived in". With the exception of the occasional delivery trip, the boat has hardly been slept in and the showers have only been used on rare occasion. The only cooking aboard has been the use of the microwave to re-heat prepared foods. The yacht has been kept CLEAN, both inside and out, for its entire life.
"JMC" has a very good electronics package, and lacks for nothing. The flybridge electronics are housed in a power-actuated console which protects the equipment from the elements when not in use. The package includes:
"JMC" is rigged for tournament-level fishing, and has been used primarily to chase down pelagics in the Mid-Atlantic states. For the most part, her use has been from April-October of each year, with the winter months seeing only very light use. Her vast list of fishing equipment includes:
