Overview
"Dream On" presents the rare opportunity to get into a highly desirable
65 Hatteras Sportdeck Motoryacht. With her factory reverse transom she
features modern lines with the ease of a stairway up from the swim
platform to the aft or main deck. This design accommodates water sports
and line handling while still providing a large aft deck with grill
cabinet. The interior is a simple marvel of space utilization as she
offers four staterooms (3 with queens) and 4 full heads with stall
showers or showers/tubs. The one level main deck with galley up
provides a social and modern atmosphere while the pilothouse is
separated for long passages by its own bulkhead. A stairway leads to
the flybridge with abundant seating and a key bar with four built in
stools. The ultimate getaway in 65 feet, "Dream On" is a boat not to
be missed!
Layout and Accommodations
"Dream On" has a very impressive layout even for a boat of her size.
Her flushdeck lines are not only timeless and elegant but the design
offers accommodations that are often only found in 70 plus foot sized
yachts. Boarding from the aft of the vessel one is greeted by an
oversized swim platform with a gentle stairway leading up to the aft
deck. To the port side on the platform there is a large storage locker
built into the reverse transom that allows convenient storage for lines
and fenders. Up on the aft deck there is room for several chairs as
well as the built in electric grill and storage cabinet. From the aft
deck one would enter the full beam salon through the aft door and be
immediately impressed with the amount of room stretching from the large
L-shaped settee to port, chair and ottoman to starboard and then forward
to the entertainment center with granite countertops that carry on
through to the galley and dinette. The on deck galley has a large pass
through to the salon bridging these areas nicely while still providing
an abundance of cabinet space. Full size appliances make the galley a
culinary dream and make extended living and cruising aboard very
practical. Forward of the galley and dinette is the lower
helm/pilothouse. This area has a full bulkhead with door that can be
left open normally but also closed and shutoff from the salon and galley
area for night time passages or if a captain is running the boat while
the owners entertain. A stairway from the pilothouse
area leads to the flybridge which is absolutely huge and ready for a
party. The flybridge helm is forward with captain and companion chairs
followed by a Hatteras "key bar" which has sink and refrigerator and is
surrounded by four bar stools. Aft is a U-shaped settee that can seat a
crowd and features storage underneath. The boat deck is directly
behind and has a davit and tender.
The guest
accommodations are forward with all three stateroom having their own
head with either stall showers or in the VIP stateroom a shower/tub.
The bow stateroom has a walk around queen berth, the port side guest
has adult sized bunks and the mid-ship VIP stateroom has a walk around
queen. The master stateroom actually has its own private stairway
located in the salon area that leads to a private companionway and full
beam stateroom aft. The walk around queen is flanked by his and her
lockers and drawers and features a private head with tub and shower. A
stackable washer and separate dryer are located in a locker in the
forward guest companionway.
The engine room of
"Dream On" is something that you don't see in many 65 footers. A walk
in entrance both aft and forward open to a full beam stand up engine
room. Typical of Hatteras this area is well laid out, features
beautiful wire and plumbing runs and has been kept in extremely clean
and tidy fashion.
The bow area is yet another
outdoor space "Dream On" provides and the port and starboard side doors
in the pilothouse area which make docking so easy also double for access
to the lounge and seating forward. A great spot for taking in some sun
or feeling the breeze while underway!

Engine and Mechanical
"Dream On" has 3533 hours of total boat time. The current owner has
owned her for close to 18 years and each engine has seen a rebuild
approximately 1500-1800 hours ago. Owner has records but due to an
effort to quickly get the boat online prior to winter storage he has
given me an approximation until he can find the time to find the
invoices. The boat sees regular professional care from a previous
Johnson and Towers employee and Detroit Diesel specialist. All
preventative maintenance and cooler cleaning are done on a routine
basis. The engine room is a full beam, walk in,
standing head room, engine room. She features separate doors on both
the fore and aft engine room bulkheads for access from the VIP or the
Master Companionway. Access to all sides of the engines are possible
thanks to the full beam construction and the fact that Hatteras does not
use saddle tanks, rather fiberglass tanks recessed in between the
stringers. This creates a lower center of gravity and makes access to
the outboard sides of the engines a breeze.
