Overview

Exceptionally clean and updated, "Distant Drum" is a prime example of why Hatteras Yachts is the world's  quality production yacht builder.
Electronics package and interior soft goods set "Distant Drum" apart from any other 40' on the market, especially since she spent her first decade from 1988 to 1998 in fresh water.  A must see boat!

Vessel Walkthrough and Accommodations

Sleeps four owners and guests in two separate and private staterooms each either having its own head and shower stall or immediate access to one.
Immediately upon boarding the vessel one notices the large raised aft deck with a Hatteras factory hardtop, a large fiberglass table with four chairs and a dunnage box cushioned seat.  There is a boarding ladder leading from the aft deck to the large swim platform.  Up three steps from the aft deck is the flybridge which has a double wide helm seat and seating for four in front of the helm console.  The helm area is weather protected by a new flybridge enclosure.
The salon is accessed from the aft deck through a door and three steps on the starboard side of the vessel.  The vessel's galley area is forward of the salon and across from the galley is the ships day head, (vacu-flush) and shower stall which also serves the guest stateroom.
The guest stateroom is forward and features a large V-berth with drawer storage underneath and a large hanging locker.
Aft of the salon is the master stateroom which features a centerline queen size berth, large hanging locker and an ensuite head (vacu-flush) with separate shower stall.  There is also drawer storage on the port and starboard sides and sliding windows on both outboard sides.
The engine room is accessed through hatches in the main salon flooring.

Salon

The main salon is access from the aft deck and down three steps.  On the starboard side of the vessel are two chairs with a chest type table in between and two small stools which fit under the galley counter, which is also on the starboard side of the vessel, slightly forward.  On the portside of the salon is a large L-shaped sofa with storage underneath, a hi-lo teak table and a flat screen plasma television atop a U-line icemaker.  On the starboard side of the salon is a built in entertainment center with a Yamaha sound system with DVD and VHS players.  All of the soft goods in the salon have been tastefully updated, including the window blinds.
