Overview

Jefferson Yachts was founded in 1982 by Leon Shaw. Jefferson imported and marketed a series of Taiwan-built trawlers and motor yachts, all manufactured by Hershine Marine in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The first Jefferson model, the Jefferson 45 Motor Yacht, was introduced in 1982. In 1994, they introduced their own line of center console fishing boats, which they built in Jeffersonville, Indiana. After that, they built a variety of motor yachts, sportfish boats and express cruisers at that location from 30’ to 82’ until they declared bankruptcy in 2012.

The Jefferson 42 Sundeck was built on the same hull as the Jefferson 42 Convertible. Designed by the noted Naval Architect, Robert B. Harris, the Jefferson 42 Sundeck is recognized as a contemporary classic, with lines that embody the traditions of fine motor yachting, combining the latest of modern engineering principles with proven construction techniques and materials.

The Jefferson 42 Sundeck is perfect for Loopers, cruising the ICW or the Chesapeake in comfort and style. It also makes a wonderful liveaboard- waterfront property at a value! The main saloon in the 42 Sundeck is spacious and well-appointed with teak parquet floors and a lower steering station; all of the cabinetry is hand-finished teak. Four large hatches in the saloon floor make major engine and machinery service easy, while a door beneath the galley steps allows access for routine inspections without disrupting saloon activities. The opening side windows are tinted safety glass with screens. The Sundeck's master stateroom offers unparalleled luxury, from its queen-sized berth to its sumptuous head replete with marble washbasin, golden faucets, and separate shower with a tub. Storage space has been planned for extended cruising with full-sized drawers, hanging lockers, bureaus, and even a vanity- all in hand-finished teak. The spacious galley-down has lots of working space and storage and has a full-size refrigerator/freezer. The adjacent dinette easily seats four, can convert to a full double berth and is surrounded by more storage. Forward of that is the guest stateroom, with bunk beds as well as another full head with a separate stall shower; that head can be accessed from the cabin or the galley area.

Outside, the full-beam sundeck provides a great living and entertaining area, as well as enclosed access to the flybridge- no need to go outside in bad weather to access the bridge. There’s plenty of seating on the flybridge and good visibility from the helm. The side decks are wide and safe, with a side door to the lower helm. The vessel is powered with dependable and efficient twin Cummins diesel engines and cruises at about 12 knots.

“FIREFLY” represents a great opportunity for whatever your own dreams hold. Dockside live-aboard condo, cruising in comfort or making longer voyages like doing the Loop. Don’t miss this beautiful motor yacht that’s ready & waiting to fulfill your boating adventures. Call and make an appointment to come see “FIREFLY” today!

ACCOMMODATIONS

Flybridge: The flybridge is fully enclosed to provide protection from the elements when needed.  Visibility for the captain is good on all quarters and guest seating is generous, with seating on both port and starboard sides of the helm.  There is storage beneath the double helm seat and the other seating areas.

Sundeck: The sundeck on the Jefferson 42’ is a spacious and comfortable area for entertaining or just relaxing.  The enclosure can keep you out of the elements, or you can open it up to be able to enjoy the nice breezes. The transom door opens to a ladder down to the swim platform.  Additionally, there is a ladder to the flybridge which permits inside access to the upper helm.  Double doors open to the salon and to the right of them is a custom cabinet with a large work surface that can be utilized as a workbench, buffet or serving area. There is a drawer and shelf storage beneath it.

Forward stateroom: Entering the forward cabin there are two 6’5” x 30” bunk beds on starboard.  Under the lower berth, there are two drawers and additional storage space. There is a tall hanging locker at the aft end of the bunks and a low locker on port with shelves and a large counter space. Two steps were added to make access to the top bunk easier.  There is a dressing mirror by the entrance to the forward head.  Small fiddled shelves run the length of the hull sides.  The headroom is 6’7”.  Lighting and ventilation are provided by two LED overhead lights, a reading light, three opening ports with screens and an overhead hatch with a screen.

Forward head: The forward head can be accessed from the galley or the forward stateroom.  There is a stall shower with a shower wand and hose to the left as you enter.  To the right is the sink with storage beneath and a medicine cabinet to the right of it.  The head is forward of the sink and aft-facing.  There are two large mirrors.  The headroom is 6’7” in here. Lighting and ventilation are provided by two overhead LED lights and two opening ports with screens.

Galley: Forward from the salon you go down four steps and the galley is to starboard, with the dinette to port.  The dinette can seat four quite comfortably and has a top that can be lowered to create a 75” x 43” double berth.  There is extensive storage beneath the dinette seats and in lockers and shelves surrounding the area.  On starboard, across from the dinette, is the L-shaped galley.  The deep double sinks are outboard and have double door storage beneath them.  On either side of the double doors are two stacks of four drawers.  The full-height refrigerator is at the aft of the galley and has storage beneath it for pots and pans.  There is a spice rack shelf along the hull above the sink.  Wrapping around from the sink is more counter space and the stove.  There is drawer storage beneath the stove and three locker doors above with shelves. Lighting and ventilation in the galley and dinette areas are provided by five overhead lights and three opening ports.  The headroom is 7’.

Salon: Entry to the salon is from the sundeck or the starboard side door by the lower helm.  Several of the steps from the sundeck have storage beneath them.  The L-shaped dinette can easily seat four and is removable, should you desire to reconfigure the space.  The teak dinette table is inlaid in a starburst pattern, has drop leaves and is height adjustable. This is also removable without damage to the cabin sole.

Aft of the L settee is a large fiddled shelf/counter area.

At the forward side of the space on port is the entertainment center.  That has an L-shaped counter with a double door shelved locker and three drawers beneath it.  Above that, is the TV with a drawer beneath it, storage on the backside and a fiddled shelf above it.

At the aft end of the port side of the saloon is a liquor cabinet, with storage space beneath it as well.  The headroom in the salon is 6’7”.  Lighting and ventilation in the salon area are provided by five fixed windows forward and sliding windows with screens on port and starboard.  Additionally, there are four overhead lights and LED strip lighting behind the valances on port and starboard.

Master stateroom: Entry to the master stateroom from the salon is on port and down four steps.  A hinged bifold door closes this space off for privacy.  As you enter the space there are two large hanging lockers to your right with a large fiddled shelf area above them.  Continuing aft from the hanging lockers is a dresser unit, with two drawers and double door locker space beneath with a large mirror above it.  Across and along the starboard hull side is another hanging double door locker and dresser drawer unit.  This dresser unit has two drawers and a single locker beneath it.  The full walk-around queen-size island berth is aft with fiddled three-drawer nightstands on either side of the berth. At the forward end of the cabin are a dressing table with sliding cubby storage beneath it and a flip-up makeup mirror.  Headroom in here is 6’3”.  Lighting and ventilation are provided by sliding windows with screens along the hullsides, large opening ports over either nightstand and a large opening hatch above the bed in the center of the transom.  There are two reading lights, three LED overhead lights and two end table lamps.

Master stateroom head: The ensuite master head is located at the forward end of the master stateroom on starboard.  As you enter there is an angled countertop to your left with a round marble sink.  Beneath the sink are two lockers and a mirrored medicine cabinet above it.  To the right of that is the electric head, which has a large wall mounted mirror above it.  To the right of the toilet is the tub with a hot and cold faucet and shower wand.  Cubby-space is ample and provides a shelf above that along the hull.  Headroom is 6’ 2”.  Lighting and ventilation are provided by a fixed light and one overhead light in that space.
