Overview

Antares is a nicely maintained, newer trawler with traditional lines and finish. She is a one owner boat with low hours on the Cummins QSB 5.9 L diesel main engine and is equipped with a 9.7 kw Onan generator to power all of her systems while away from the dock. Maneuverability is greatly enhanced with both the bow and stern thrusters. An additional thruster hand held remote allows crew to assist with maneuvering. Her two stateroom, one head layout provides comfortable quarters for the owner and a few guests and the spacious main cabin features an L-shaped settee and chair to port with the galley along the starboard side. A lower helm and a navigators station provides comfort for driving inside while a large flybridge allows for controlling the boat and entertaining up top. This boat is ready to cruise immediately.

Mariner 40 Walkthrough

Access to the cockpit can be obtained via the swim platform and transom door. Once on board, the fore deck can be reached from the cockpit via very secure covered walkways on both port and starboard. Once in the cockpit, a sliding door leads to the main cabin and a molded staircase and ladder to port leads up to the flybridge. Access to the main cabin is made easy through the large, sliding door in the cockpit or forward on the starboard side to the lower helm wing door. Once inside the main cabin, a barrel chair and large settee with a hi-lo oval table for dining is along the port side. The galley is located on the starboard side. The lower helm is forward and starboard in the main cabin and a navigators station is opposite to port. The companionway to berthing is just off center forward with the guest cabin with twin bunks is to port, the head is to starboard and master stateroom is forward in the bow. On the flybridge is a large open deck aft and forward are bench seats to port and starboard and a captains chair at the flybridge helm forward. Access to the engine/mechanical compartment is made easy through hatches in the sole of the main cabin.

Mariner 40 Main Cabin

Antares main cabin is an open floorplan with the salon to port consisting of a barrel chair and large L-shaped settee, which can be used as a single berth, with hi-lo oval wood dining table. The galley is to starboard. Forward of the salon in the main cabin is the navigators area which features a bench seat and extending chart table. Forward of the galley is the lower helm. The Companionway to the berthing compartment is just off center forward in the main cabin between the navigators area and the lower helm. The cabin has plenty of windows with blinds and the starboard wing door and the aft sliding door provide natural lighting and fresh airflow to the space. The main cabin sole is teak and holly.

Mariner 40 Galley

The Y-shaped galley features all the major components needed to prepare and store food and drinks for extended cruising. There is plenty of storage throughout the cabinets with a good amount of counter space. Granite counter tops throughout the galley and an under counter mounted stainless steel sink at the Y in the galley reflects the modern styling of this trawler. A half size Nova Kool refrigerator with separate freezer compartment is below the aft counter top and a Sharp Carousel Grill 2 Convection microwave oven is mounted on top of the counter above the refrigerator.  Forward of the microwave is a Princess two burner cook top. A fold up section of counter top extends to create the Y off of the sink.

Mariner 40 Lower Helm

The design of this boat makes navigating from the lower helm effective. The helm is outfitted with the essential equipment including:

The guest bunk room is to port in the berthing area and features a lower bunk that is slightly larger than a single, a single upper bunk, two port lights with blinds, a hanging locker, a small desk with drawer and large mirror, drawers under the lower berth and two cabinets behind the upper bunk. Mariner 40 Head

The head features a Jabsco toilet with Raritan Electro scan system, granite vanity with under mounted stainless steel sink, storage cabinets and a large mirror over the vanity. The large shower stall with bi-fold glass doors provides a very comfortable space to shower without feeling cramped. Two portlights provides natural light and airflow to the space. The sole is synthetic teak and holly.

Mariner 40 Master Stateroom

The master cabin is forward in the bow of the boat and features a centered queen berth with walk-around access, reading lights, under bed storage drawers and provides very comfortable quarters for the owners. A hanging locker is to port, a small desk with mirror is to starboard and there are cabinets and shelves flanking each side of the berth. The sole is teak and holly, two portlights and an over head hatch provide natural light and airflow to the space.

Mariner 40 Cockpit

The large, covered cockpit on this trawler provides room for relaxing or entertaining and the molded flybridge stairs/ladder lead up to the flybridge. A transom door provides access to the large swim platform. There are molded bench seats in either aft corner with storage inside and an additional storage cabinet is molded under the stairs. The large lazerette provides access to the generator and steerage and also provide a large amount of storage space.

Mariner 40 Flybridge

The large flybridge and sundeck provides a great place for navigating, entertaining or relaxing. The flybridge is enclosed with canvas and Isinglass and features a large bench seat to port, another large L-shaped bench seat to starboard, and a Flexsteel captain's chair centered on the helm.
