Overview

"Waypoint" has more interior volume than most 65' Motoryachts in her class due to her 18'2" wide beam and Command Bridge. The 57E is easily handled by a cruising couple. The twin Caterpillar 1015HP engines offer a wide range of cruising speeds while achieving 1 nautical mile per gallon, at 8 knots similar to the efficiency of "slow boats". With a high speed cruise of 26 knots you have the best of both worlds. She is built for stability in rough sea conditions, has oversize air-conditioning chillers and diesel heat allowing you to cruise in comfort virtually anywhere. "Waypoint" has a satin teak main deck and a beautiful maple and teak lower deck.

"Waypoint" has just returned from the yard where 2 coats of bottom paint were applied and the props were coated with Propspeed.  The Stabilizer seals were replaced.  All fluids and filters have been changed and the varnish was just redone and looks great.  "Waypoint" is ready to cruise.

Deck and Hull

The raised pilothouse, Portuguese bridge, and wide side decks combined with her state of the art semi-displacement hull makes the Marlow Explorer one of the most comfortable and safest yachts in any sea condition.

With her impressive C-18's, large tankage, and enclosed Command Bridge, "Waypoint" is one of the most capable semi-displacement vessels ever built. This yacht is designed  for the real deal blue water cruising! The enclosed command bridge is fully air-conditioned and heated with her onboard diesel heater and window defroster. On fair days the side doors, double aft doors, and overhead hatches can be opened for soothing natural ventilation. Her bow pulpit features twin anchors with 300' of chain on the plow.

On either side of the windlass, deck lockers open to expose the forward 50A shore power inlets. Faucets for the fresh and salt water wash downs are also located in these lockers. The fuel tanks, fresh water and drinking water can be filled from either side of the yacht. The fuel fill is conveniently located amidships about 12" above the deck. The water fills are located on either side of the pilothouse, right below the forward windshield. The black water pump out can be easily accessed on both the port and starboard sides, therefore spinning the boat in a marina for pump out, water or fuel service is never a hassle on a majestic Marlow Explorer.

Salon

When you enter the aft doors from the cockpit you wonder if this is really a 57' yacht or a much larger vessel. The space is very open with abundance of natural lighting. There are opposing settees on each side with built in storage underneath. To starboard forward of the settee is a beautiful teak desk complete with full size file drawer, and an outlet for your laptop. The television is behind the teak tambour doors. On the port side forward is a full bar with sink, refrigerator, freezer, ice maker, wine cooler, and plenty of storage for  glasses and mixers. The floor is teak and holly with a high gloss finish. The salon table is also high gloss teak and is a aesthetic accent to the satin finish walls. There is ample overhead 24V lighting and 110V rope lighting that is hidden under the skirt of the settee just off the floor, and overhead in the teak crown molding. The built-in Bose system sounds wonderful in the salon because the composite construction insulates virtually all external noise. The ability to see beyond the salon into the galley and dining area compliments the sense of space. As you enter the aft salon door you have a expansive view from front pilothouse windows.

  • 24V halogen lighting

Engine Room

Professional Captains continue to tell us that we have the best engine room they have ever worked in and on. You can get to everything quickly and safely with 6'2" head room. The area is well lit with 110V and 24V lighting. There are four (4) large blowers to cool the space down after a run and the area is air-conditioned, so any maintenance can be done in comfort. Each engine has dual Raycor filters; this includes both main engines and the generator. The fuel system is simple with one (1) large tank holding 1350 gallons of fuel that you can easily fill from either side of the boat. The engine beds are heavy polished stainless steel and secure the engine vibration isolation mounts to the hull stringers. They run all the way past the transmissions to accept the thrust load of the Aqua-drive units. The dripless shaft seals have a crossover tube that supplies water from both engines so you can safely run on one engine if required. The 20 KW Northern Lights generator is surrounded in an easy to inspect and access sound shield. The yacht features a Sea Chest to supply raw water to all the ships systems eliminating many troublesome through hull fittings and related strainers. Each of the engines, generator, air-conditioning system, salt water wash-down and all other components of the yacht that require salt water have their own shut-off valve on the Sea Chest.  These serve for all sea water needs and it provides great safety and easier maintenance. The 1015HP Caterpillar engines are connected to the underwater exhaust system via high temperature silicone hose to further isolate noise and vibration.

Galley

The lower helm is not necessary in the Command Bridge model allowing the space for a full beam galley. Any cook will feel more like they are cooking at home with the large granite counters, necessary appliances, and expansive windows. You will never settle for a “galley down” arrangement after seeing this yacht! There is a large Franke stainless sink with a Grohe faucet and separate drinking water spigot that generates from the onboard drinking water system. A hood vent over the Décor cooktop vents cooking odors outside. On nice days the galley can have fresh air via the overhead hatches and sliding pilothouse doors.

  • Sub Zero refrigerator drawers
  • Decor cooktop with sea rails
  • Franke stainless steel sink
  • Sub Zero freezer drawers
  • Convection microwave oven
  • Grohe faucet

Dining Area

The dining table is aft of the galley on the same level. While sitting at the built-in L-settee facing the table, you have a clear view forward out the galley and pilothouse windows. This is a favorite spot while cruising because you are elevated and have a clear view forward. This area is also open to the salon just a few steps down providing a very spacious open feeling.

Master Stateroom

The large pilothouse and 18'2" beam provides the space for a very comfortable master stateroom near the center of the boat where you will have the least motion and noise. Large opening ports are on both sides for good ventilation and the stateroom has its own thermostat. The master also has a large under bed storage area. The private head and shower are on the port side. The shower is full size like you would find ashore. There are many drawers and hanging lockers for extended cruising. The full size washer and dryer is conveniently located at the foot of the stairs from the galley to the cabins.

VIP Stateroom

The VIP stateroom forward has a centerline queen island berth with six (6) large drawers under the berth . All the cabinetry is satin finished maple with teak accents. Each hull side is finished with overhead lockers with louvered doors and cedar lined hanging lockers. There is a 15" flat screen TV that is mounted in a custom wood frame. This stateroom has a telephone jack, stereo volume control and berth reading lights. Two (2) Manship screened overhead hatches provide light and fresh air. The VIP and mid cabin have a small factory TV.

Port Guest Stateroom

This is the space that suffers the most in narrower boats. You would typically see two  narrow bunks up against the hull with very little room for anything else. Not in this vessel with her 18'2" beam! The space allows a stateroom even when the large bi-fold doors are closed. There is ample drawer space for folded items, desk and reading area with shelving, full size hanging locker, and reading lamps for each bunk. There are opening ports with screens for natural ventilation.

Engine & Electrical

Most professional captains tell us that we have the best engine room they have ever been in on a vessel of this size. You can get to everything quickly and safely with 6'2" head room. The area is well lit with 110V and 24V lighting. There are 110V and 24V blowers to cool the space down after a run and the area is air-conditioned so maintenance can be done in comfort. Each diesel engine has dual Raycor filters. The fuel system is very simple with two large tanks that are usually cross-connected to operate as one (1350 gallons total). The engine beds are very heavy polished stainless steel and secure the engine vibration isolation mounts to the hull stringers and run all the way past the transmissions to accept the thrust load of the Aquadrive units. The dripless shaft seals have a crossover tube that supplies water from both engines so you can safely run on one engine. The 20 KW Northern Lights generator is in a sound shield for very quiet operation (4811 hours).

Just forward of the engines in the center of the room is a sea chest with removable clear cleaning port. Each of the engines, generator, air-conditioning system, salt water washdown and all the other components of the yacht that require salt water have their own shut-off valve on the sea chest. One hull opening for all sea water needs provides great safety. The 1015 HP Caterpillar engines are connected to the underwater exhaust system via high temperature silicone hose to further isolate noise.
