COMMENTS

The 80 concept called for a light, fast, elegant and comfortable super yacht, taking the Cruiser / Racer concept to the next level - ‘Speed, seaworthiness, technology and innovation without compromise’. Nautor’s advanced ‘Regatta’ lay-up consists of S-Glass/ Aramid hybrid fibre with matched vinylester resin. The main construction parameters are weight reduction for speed, increase of strength for seaworthiness and reduction of noise and vibration for smooth and comfortable sailing.

CONQUISTADOR’s condition can quite simply be summed up in one word – stunning. She has been continually maintained and cherished her throughout her life by professional crew for very discerning owners. She has also had the benefit of numerous upgrades during construction and post building. These upgrades have been made with full consultation with the factory.

Maintained to exacting standards this Swan will appeal to an owner looking for the very best, whether they wish to cruise, race or charter – or all three!

A very extensive refit was carried out while in the RMK yard in Turkey, between Oct. 2011 to August 2012. The renewal of the teak decks and paint work were contracted by RMK whilst all further upgrades, replacement and refurbishment of systems was carried out by Nautor trained technicians. The list of issues that was addressed is too long to put into a specification. Just the highlights are listed below.

2012 – new Max Power retractable bow thrusters, hydraulic, 30hp

2012- full service on the Navtex system and all hydraulics.

2012- new teak decking throughout.

2012 – interior; new headliners, New Sunbrella floorcovers, new salon leather upholstery, new crew area upholstery, new mattresses in owner's cabin. New varnish where required. Wooden bunk in crew area. ( winter 2012).

Construction

The construction is partly high tech with honeycomb cored pre-pregnated carbon fibre structural bulkheads and main deck. Carbon fibres are used to reinforce the hull stiffeners.

Hull construction is of proven solid single skin glass fibre reinforced Vinylester laminate.

Coloured topsides, originally in gel coat dark blue (instead of standard white) - repainted to Awlgrip Majestic  blue (June 2012).

HULL & APPENDAGES

Construction

The construction is partly high tech with honeycomb cored pre-pregnated carbon fibre structural bulkheads and main deck. Carbon fibres are used to reinforce the hull stiffeners. 

Hull construction is of proven solid single skin glass fibre reinforced Vinylester laminate.

Finish

Coloured topsides, originally in gel coat dark blue (instead of standard white) - repainted to Awlgrip Majestic  blue (June 2012).

Cove stripe and boot top painted in Pale Gold Awlgrip.

Bottom paint, International Micron Extra, black.

Transom and deck extended by 45 cm to give an aft deck of 1,65m at build stage.

Keel

Racing keel fitted (06/2002) in Brisbane

Keel removed and resealed 2012, new keel nuts.

DECK

General

Honeycomb cored pre-preg carbon fibre structural bulkheads and main deck.

Toe rail was lengthened forward to create foothold for the people on the bow.
