The Club Swan 42 was designed by and built by and first launched in 2006. It was initially launched and referred to as 42 as the design was commissioned by the club following a tendering process.
The boat has had significant racing success, both as a one-design and under rating rules such as IRC and ORC, and was used for the biennial Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup from the event's inception in 2009 through 2017.
HULL
Laminate
Infusion moulded E-glass / vinylester laminate with carbon reinforcements in selected areas.

Fibre reinforcements are multiaxial and unidirectional.
Structural bulkheads are of veneered sandwich construction or marine grade waterproof plywood. Watertight bulkhead at bow, drained fore peak.

The Club Swan 42 carbon mast is supplied with a clear-coat finish. The 15/16ths rig is set up for fractional upwind sails and masthead spinnakers. Two sets of swept-back spreaders support the runner-less rig, and the Hall-Antal mainsail luff track accepts either a boltrope or sliders.
Standing rigging is Navtec rod with continuos single line SK99 Dyneema Gottifredi Maffiolioli backstay.
