“Slow Ryde” is a blue water offshore cruiser/liveaboard, ready to take you anywhere you desire. She is completely set up for single-handing with furling jib, mainsail halyard, and reef lines led to 2-speed self-tailing winches in cockpit; remote controlled electric windlass; auto pilot; outboard motor hoist; and jack lines. Main and mizzen sails drop right into their Doyle stack pack with lazy jacks.
The low hours Beta Marine Kubota diesel boasts 50 hp for reliable, strong motoring in fast currents. There’s a built in hand pump for quick, easy oil changes. It also has a 100 amp high output alternator.
“Slow Ryde” has excellent interior accommodations in a private, 2-cabin layout. Aft and midship companionways allow easy access to main salon and owner’s stateroom. From the aft companionway you enter the private captain’s quarters which has a double Pullman berth to port and a full navigation station to starboard. Galley is u-shaped with propane 3-burner gimbaled stove/oven with safety valve and switch. It features two large, deep stainless steel sinks, hot/cold pressurized water, 2 foot pumps, large refrigerator/freezer, and microwave. Provisioning is accommodated with 30+ storage lockers throughout the boat.
The head is well ventilated and has a separate shower stall with bench seat. Salon has an additional entry hatch with stairs, long bench settees to port and starboard, teak dining table center. Forward cabin has a large v-berth, vanity sink, hanging locker, and a plethora of drawers.
Boat ventilation consists of 10 opening ports, 5 opening hatches, dorade vent and 2 companionway hatches. To help move the air about, there are 3, 2-speed fans. Or, what the heck, you can just run the air conditioning.
Her large battery bank is kept charged by 2, 135-watt solar panels mounted in a custom frame above the bimini top. An Air Breeze wind generator is mounted to mizzen mast. And for off the grid use of the 2 A/C units and microwave there’s a 7.5 kw Northern Lights Lugger diesel generator.
“Slow Ryde” sails beautifully, and being a ketch allows easy sail handling and provides numerous sail combinations for different wind/sea conditions. The cruising spinnaker can be single handed with use of autopilot.
