Overview

Welcome aboard HELENE, the beautiful dark blue Selene 47. This is one of the most popular Selene Ocean Trawler models, one that shows as well as the photos.  HELENE stands out with her blue hull, Yanmar WING ENGINE for additional peace of mind, and a suite of electronics that will get you to your destinations in style. Nobeltec chart plotting, Kabola heating, water maker, and more.

Constantly maintained and upgraded, HELENE shows the care the owner has given this Selene 47 since the day she was new. This is a Must-Get-Aboard if you are in search of a cruising boat and certainly in great company with the other amazing Selene Ocean Trawlers on the market with Selene.

The Selene 47 is in secure moorage, please call for an appointment for a showing.

Accommodations

Accommodations

The Selene 47 HELENE is a two-stateroom and two-head cruising yacht created with comfort and safe cruising as paramount features in the design.  Selene is known for their high quality interiors and beautiful exterior finish, and HELENE is another wonderful example of the Selene Ocean Trawler that can take you to places far and wide.

Differences between the Selene 47 and the 48 Selene is that there were choices an owner could make to the fly bridge deck. If they chose the widebody bridge, the shipyard also includes the side boards, that run along the outer edge of the upper deck and down to the cap rails for support. Also, the bow pulpit is longer on the 48 Selene. For owners that have LOA requirements for their marinas, the 47 Selene HELENE gives you the same amount of deck length and interior cabin space, without the additional LOA.

The Layout of the Selene 47 is very practical, giving you access to cabins and the Pilothouse via a set of stairs on either side of the boat. Steps are comfortable and carpeted on HELENE, as is the Main Salon and Cabin Deck.

Upon entering the Selene 47, the first thing you notice is the renowned quality that Selene does so well. The wood selection is carefully chosen to create this rich, vibrant interior. From the elegant carpeting throughout to the soft goods, the value HELENE presents is quickly apparent.

HELENE has a centerline Galley that is the focal point for entertaining and meals aboard. The location offers an abundance of storage options and gives the main salon a number of seating options. The starboard side of the main salon is open for adding the chairs of your choice. Some owners will add a versatile chair to give them both the option of using them at the dining table as well as for a comfortable reading chair in the evening. HELENE uses a marine chair for both indoor and outdoor seating to take advantage of being outdoors on the aft deck for chatting with your neighbors or viewing the sunset.

The Lower Cabins aboard HELENE are down the port side steps at the Galley. The two-cabin and two-head layout gives privacy aboard and still allows for great access to engine room and washer/dryer.

Master Stateroom - Located forward, this wonderful cozy stateroom is bright and allows for warm evenings aboard and gentle breezes during the day.  There is a centerline double berth with drawers and storage below.  Twin hanging lockers give you room for hanging clothing, and the abundance of storage Selene is known for surrounds the cabin.

An ensuite head offers showers as well as bathing with the tub.  A second head for the guest stateroom has a shower and is just as bright and elegant as the master head.

The Washer/Dryer unit is located at the foot of the lower cabin steps in a locker on the outboard side. It is vented on-deck and has storage for cleaning supplies.

Engine Room access is available via two distinct ways: the main door at the foot of the steps to the lower deck, and also via hatches in the main salon. Both give you access to systems and fluid checks for the engine, generator, and wing engine. With the hatches open, you also have the ability to work comfortably.

Aft of the engine room below the Main Salon is the commissary, which is a Selene feature that offers you full-beam storage for not only dry goods but also in a freezer locker for your latest catch and cold storage for long passages. This commissary is accessed via the hatch located just inside the Main Salon door as you enter the boat.

The Pilothouse is a few steps up from the Main Salon on the starboard side of the Galley. It has access on each side to the decks, a bright helm area for great visibility, and a suite of electronics that puts you in command of your boat in even the most challenging conditions. Comfortable for long passages, the helm seat allows you to cruise with your family and enjoy the use of a table for snacks and reviewing the latest chart for the next anchorage.

In addition to the great visibility, the Pilothouse also features the watch berth, for the extra layer of assistance when running on long passages or putting up an extra guest. Access to the fly bridge is up a few more steps to the upper deck, giving you a commanding view of your surroundings.

Access to the flybridge is via the steps from the Pilothouse as well as a ladder from the aft deck and marine hatch. The tender is stored up on the flybridge and is placed in the water using the mast and boom aboard HELENE. The owners have had a great time cruising and have enjoyed HELENE very much.

HELENE Maintenance

The owners of HELENE have been diligent in taking great care of something that they have both great pride and affection for - their Selene 47.  The gorgeous dark blue hull is the first thing that you notice and the depth of service goes beyond what you can see.  The Selene 47 was commissioned a week before the Holiday season in 2003 and featured in the January 2004 Boat Show.  Since then, the owners have put 600 hours on the main engine and 50 on the Wing Engine.  Oil changes occurred at the correct times and the transmission (Twin Disc) every other year, including this past fall.

The Bow and Stern thruster batteries were replace in 2009 and 2010, and the Start Batteries and House batteries were replaced, all with AGM and the Dyno L-16s (house).

In addition, the Vacu-flush waste lines were replaced with heavy duty in 2009.  The Kabola B-12 was also serviced regularly and runs like a champ.

The Galley did not miss any attention and the upright Seafreeze refrigerator and freezer were replaced with new in 2009.

There are canvas covers for the teak caprails (which have been regularly maintained as you can see), upper helm cover, and also the tender cover.

HELENE includes many spare parts for the main engine, the Yanmar Wing Engine, Westerbeke 8 KW genset, Kabola Heating System, and the Racor filters.
