Overview

Introduced in 1974 as a replacement for the old mahogany-planked Trojan 42 Motor Yacht, the Trojan 44 Motor Yacht was an all-fiberglass boat—an important advance for Trojan, a relative latecomer to fiberglass construction. Her low-deadrise, modified-V hull has a relatively wide beam and a long keel for directional stability. Below deck, her two-stateroom interior is arranged in the conventional manner with the galley and dinette down two steps from the salon. Teak paneling and cabinets are applied liberally throughout, and the owner’s stateroom was offered with twin beds or a walkaround queen. The aft deck and adjoining lower helm offers abundant space for entertaining, and there’s seating for four on the small flybridge. Note the wide side decks—a real plus. Among several engine options, twin 310hp 6-71N Detroit diesels cruise the Trojan 44 MY at 15 knots and reach a top speed of 18 knots.
