This Viking CPMY design was well ahead of it's time and has maintained it's place in yachting legend as one of the best looking and performing yacht designs of all time.
The interior of this beautiful and spacious vessel is even better with it's full beam 17'6" layout you have maximum spaciousness everywhere, especially on the main deck and in the incredible master stateroom (you would have to buy an 80+ footer to get a bigger master than this!)
"FREEDOM" is being offered by her meticulous and exacting retired airline pilot owner. The careful love and attention she has received are evident everywhere you look.
Seriously for sale, this outstanding vessel invites your close inspection.
This is clearly the best looking and best maintained 72' Viking on the market and out classes her competition hands down. She is easy to view and ready to impress in Stuart, FL.
A must see yacht.
Master Suite
From the salon, a carpeted stairwell aft curves down to the small landing from which the laundry and engine rooms are accessed as well as the entry to the very large full beam private master suite. This suite is further enhanced by well placed mirrors, including one in the canopy above the king sized, center-line bed. There is mood lighting from accent lighting beneath the bed and perimeter soffits of the stateroom. Twin lamps beside the headboard permit reading and the recessed halogen lights overhead are there when brighter light is desired. Attractive built-in teak cabinets provide an incredible amount of storage as does the walk in cedar-lined closet. A second cedar lined hanging locker is concealed behind mirrored doors. There is a lighted makeup mirror with vanity top and seat. The floor to ceiling entertainment center is opposite the bed and concealed behind a mirrored door. It features TV, DVD, AM/FM stereo and CD player, as well as a wine rack and refrigerator. The large ensuite head features a full length mirror with LED lights, large his and her sinks and the enclosed tub/shower combo includes a very soothing Jacuzzi Whirlpool.
Guest Accommodations
From the wheelhouse a carpeted stairwell curves down to a small foyer providing access to the three forward guest staterooms.
The VIP stateroom in the bow has a queen center-line berth. There is a generous hanging locker, ample drawers and extra cabinet for storage. The entertainment center has TV, VCR and CD player. Beneath the bed is a huge space for stores, perfect for extended voyages.
The port-side guest stateroom features twin beds on a common track. They easily slide together to form a king size berth.
The starboard cabin is ideal as crew quarters or for personal guests (kids love it!). Furnished with over and under berths, hanging locker, and plentiful cabinet drawers along with ensuite head with shower.
The practical and convenient galley extends the full width of the beam. Black Galaxy granite countertops enhance the ivory with black trim Corian cabinets above and below. Teak parquet flooring and KitchenAid Architectural Designer Series appliances in stainless steel are usefully fitted. The two portside windows add interest and provide excellent natural light while providing the illusion of expanding the already generous galley proportions. Open pass-through option to the dining room is convenient while allowing the owner chef to enjoy family and guests or may be closed for privacy should you employ crew. Overhead lighting has been recently upgraded to LED.
The wheelhouse is impressive and very functional with a wing door on either side. The Command Center is loaded with instrumentation and the console has black leatherette which matches the pilothouse seat. Together they spark appealing contrast with the teak walls. The three massive windshield windows provide great visibility for piloting especially in inclement weather. New electric Hunter Douglas shades with remote control provide privacy and sun protection while docked. Ample chart and filing drawers for handy accessibility. There is a complete ship's library under the helm seat.
The bridge deck extends the full length of the main deck below. The pilot station forward is a fully instrumented command station. There are three Pompenette captain's chairs at the instrument console and behind them a large bench seat with storage. Under the radar arch there is a covered Jenn Aire Grill, sink and prep area with refrigerator and storage cabinets beneath. This expansive fresh air entertainment area provides the space, seating and tables to accommodate ample guests. Aft of the entertainment area are the dinghy chocks and a 1000 lg. Marquipt tender davit recently overhauled. The overhead Bimini is black Sunbrella, as are the chair and instrumentation covers.
The electrical system is well engineered and efficiently serves the vessels needs whether at the dock, cruising or anchored.
Powered by twin 1,080 HP Detroit Diesels, model DD 12V-92 TAB engines, turning ZF BW195 gears coupled to 3 inch Aquamet 22 shafts and manganese bronze 4 blade propellers. Air conditioned by Reverse Cycle CruiseAir, there are five compressors located in the engine room and every cabin has individual controls. (30,000 BTU Saloon, 30,000 BTU Galley/Wheelhouse, 10,000 BTU Master Stateroom, 7,000 BTU VIP, 7,000 BTU Crew/Port Guest). NAIAD 254 Stabilizers actuate 9 sq' fins. Recent Aegean Water maker may be controlled from the engine room and has an additional remote control in the wheel house. Viking factory installed an optional aft fuel tank bringing her total capacity to more than 2,000 Gallons.
Complete Engine alarm monitor
Two 20KW Onan Gensets, each capable of running the ship.
The main deck exterior is easy to maintain fiberglass, repainted in 2014 with AllCraft 2000. The entire deck is well laid out and equipped for ease of handling and maintenance. The house and hull color is Oyster white. There are ample lines and fenders for docking. Remote control spotlight, proper running and navigation lights, as well as numerous courtesy and convenience illuminations facilitate after dark handling.
