Overview

     The construction of the 53 Express started in 2000 and was completed in late 2003. The idea was to create the Express layout with more power to reach speeds up to 40MPH. The boat was stripped down to bare hull (no decks, no house, no engines or wiring). Extra layers of glass were added to bottom chines & stringers. The bulkheads were also reinforced.

      In 2008, she had a major refit with new AWL grip paint, sparking varnish, new pipe welders, tower with new hard top and buggy top with built-in LED lighting and teaser reels.

      In 2015, the majority of the electronics were replaced. The engines and generator were rebuilt and new ZF transmissions and shafts were installed.  All the water pumps, bilge pumps, and floats were replaced as well.
