Overview

(LOCATION: somewhere FL) The Wellcraft 400 Coastal, designed as an fisherman, combines agile handling and fishability with the comforts of a family cruiser. Her large open cockpit has all the amenities needed for successful offshore fishing while the cabin provides accommodations for four with full galley and head with shower.

This 40' convertible has a flybridge with upper station, hardtop, guest lounge, sink, outriggers, rocket launchers, and spreader lights. Below, the 94 square foot cockpit features a retractable awning, twelve rod holders, cockpit bolsters, in-deck fish box, 37-gallon livewell, rigging center, freezer, and raw & fresh water washdown. Forward, we have a bow pulpit with roller, anchor, windlass, and stainless steel bow rail. Aft, a transom door leads to an extended swim platform with boarding ladder.

The roomy salon has large windows with blinds and is finished in beechwood and leather. Galley is down to port.

There are two staterooms.  Forward we have an island double berth with under-berth storage and hanging locker. A guest stateroom features upper and lower berths. The enclosed head has head, mirrored vanity, and shower stall. There is ample room for overnight and weekend cruises or fishing trips.

Power is provided by twin Volvo Penta diesel engines known for their performance and dependability. Built by Riviera Marine of Australia the 400 Coastal remains popular because of her solid dry ride, excellent handling, and expansive cockpit.
