MC CONAGHY

MC CONAGHY - the shipyard with a semicentenary history

The MC CONAGHY shipyard was founded by John McConaghy in 1967. They are building A-class catamarans, Scythians, speedboats and other vessels. The early boats were made of plywood, but soon McConaghy began to master the innovative technology. So there were the boats with a sandwich hull, the boats made of fiberglass and Kevlar.

New methods of the boat construction have brought immediate success. Business and professional reputation of the company has grown, there were research and development of McConaghy in the field of composite construction techniques. The vessels of the shipyard became known for its strong and stiff sandwich structures.

The Australian shipyard began to expand and was settled in Mona Vale. Here, the company continued its scientific research and began to build the experimental vessels according to the new projects. Innovative technologies have done their job: the shipyard repeatedly participated in the races such as the America's Cup, Kenwood Cup, Maxi Worlds, Admirals Cup. The vessels of this shipyard received the awards.

In 2006 the company began to expand again. The shipyards received the production facilities in China. Now the organization is building the vessels in several parts of the globe. This allows MC CONAGHY to quickly deliver yachts to the buyers. The ship can be built in that place from which it is easier to transport to the customer.

For half a century the shipyard has produced dozens of masterpieces and has contributed to the yachts building. The boats under this brand entered the history. Some ships serve as a model for the today's shipbuilders.
