RICKY SCARBOROUGH

RICKY SCARBOROUGH - the family miracle

RICKY SCARBOROUGH is a shipyard that was founded by Ricky Scarborough in 1977. The founder needed the fishing boat, but he could not buy the new one. Then he built his own boat. The very first boat already has its buyer. However, Ricky sold it not at once - the ship was required to transport the fish. Only during the fall the buyer received the yacht.

30 years later in 2007, the company returned the boat, bought it from the owner. Over the years, a lot of fishing boats of different sizes were built at the shipyard. Having realized that his vessels are in a demand, Ricky Scarborough almost immediately founded the company.

For 40 years, the shipyard built the vessels with a length of 25 to 85 feet. The company is considered one of the oldest shipyards in North Carolina. The organization has its own production site and store on the water. In 1993, the son of the company founder, who by the time graduated the University of South Carolina came to the shipyard for work.

In 2010, the founder of the company was finally retired, and he was succeeded by his son. Today, he manages the organization and continues his father's work. He has brought changes in the production process. Today, the shipyard has the CNC machines, and the boat hulls received the composite cores. The multilayer designs have gained popularity.

The shipyard began to widely apply the innovative technologies. The son of the founder of the shipbuilding company is trying to bring the company to a new level, attracting the dealers and brokers from different countries.
