SILVER CLOUD is currently in a "Free Trade Zone: at Rybovich Marina in West Palm Beach.
Silver Cloud is a 134'6" SWATH Yacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen [A&R] in Germany. SWATH stands for Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull. The outstanding feature is smooth sailing in rough seas. A&R has perfected this design by building numerous SWATH ships for pilot service in the North Sea, an area known for very rough conditions. The 80' SWATH pilot boats can safely put pilots on and off ships in seas to 20 feet.
The first SWATH yacht was designed and built for a trailblazing, experienced yachtsman so he could take his family and friends around the world in complete comfort and without the effect of seasickness. Silver Cloud has been around the world twice with owners and guests aboard for all open water crossings including transpacific and transatlantic. Silver Cloud was awarded the Technology Award at the prestigious World Superyacht Awards in 2009
The stability of this vessel is truly exceptional and you can view a video of a SWATH ship along side a much larger vessel in rough seas by visiting the web site - www. yachtsilvercloud .com . Also, this web site will give you details and photographs of Silver Cloud from conception to completing her world cruises. Silver Cloud has recently completed her DNV/GL inspection including the rebuild of her main engines and is ready for many more years of outstanding adventures to interesting places most yachts do not venture.
Stepping inside Silver Cloud from the large aft deck you are immediately greeted by the warm and comfortable main salon and dining area. The main deck salon has a choice of multiple conversation areas from the L-shaped settee with soft pastel cushions to the round breakfast table, along with four deep, soft blue chairs and leather ottoman which are placed in front of the piano. Just to port of the seating areas is the dining table which comfortably seats ten guests and where fine china and wine glasses are the norm, regardless of sea conditions. Also, you become aware of the tremendous amount of living space from having a yacht with a beam of almost 60 feet. The interior volume is equal to a yacht that is 170 to 200 feet evidenced by a GRT of 926. There are remotely powered shades in all of the major spaces on board.
Accommodations are for 12 guests in five cabins including the master, two king staterooms and two staterooms with double, twin, and Pullman beds.
There are four guest staterooms located on the main deck, each characterized by large spaces and over-sized windows that ensure enviable views. These four staterooms have bathrooms with showers and heated floors. There are also flat screen LED televisions and small refrigerators in each suite.
The large commercial equipped galley is mid-ship and to starboard on the main deck. Also included is a large pantry area. This galley area is suited for preparing gourmet meals for 10 to 12 guests at sea or up to 100 dockside.
Forward of the galley is the crew mess and lounge. This area is larger than most 50 to 60 meter yachts. Combined with the 4 comfortable crew staterooms in this area, Silver Cloud provides the best crew accommodations of any boat her size.
The owner's deck is up one level and can be reached by elevator or stairs on the port side. The elevator services all decks. Forward on the owner's deck is the expansive master stateroom with 180 degree views of the sea. The king-size bed faces forward and takes in one of the most stunning views of any yacht on the water. To starboard and aft in the owner's suite is the large comfortable office/study. There are separate his and her heads in the master suite. Her head includes a shower, a large bath tub and a private entrance to the gym. There is a 65 inch TV monitor that rises aft of the center window in front of the king bed. The master cabin leads out to a private balcony forward which is home to a separate, full helm station that allows the owner to operate his yacht.
Aft and to port of the master is the gym which can be entered from the hall or from the lady's bathroom.
Across and to starboard from the gym is the media room/skylounge. This spacious and understated area contains a 65 inch 3D LED monitor which displays from the ceiling. There are four over-sized power reclining chairs that allow comfortable TV viewing, an afternoon nap or exciting video of your trip's adventures. All your stresses will be washed away by the tranquil environment that encompasses all your senses as you are on board one of the most stable designs in the yachting world.
Aft of the skylounge is the helicopter deck which is one of the largest helo decks of any yacht on the water. For safe helicopter operations, this is the best and it is fully equipped and certified. When this area is not being used for helicopter operations it can be set up for a comfortable lounging area or can accommodate a cocktail/dinner party for 100.
Moving up a level and forward is the very well equipped large pilothouse that has comfortable seating and the best navigational equipment you would expect to see on a yacht built to cruise the world. There are wing stations port and starboard for convenient docking. The large captain's stateroom is to starboard and aft of the pilothouse.
Aft and outside of the pilothouse is the comfortable hot tub spa measuring 5x7 providing stunning 180° plus views to the sides and aft over the helicopter deck and out to sea at 36 feet above sea level
The large aft deck outside the main salon is reached through large powered glass sliding doors and is comfortably set up for alfresco dining or seating and lounging for owners and guests. When these doors are open it provides easy indoor outdoor access. Aft and down from this area is the swim platform and beach club. This is an outstanding feature of Silver Cloud because it allows easy access to the water and tender boarding. When not used for these activities, the platform can be raised and this is a great area to lounge, relax and enjoy being on one of the finest, most stable, ocean going yachts ever built.
For someone that would really like to explore the most interesting and remote places in the world, in complete comfort, Silver Cloud is the finest yacht ever built for this experience. When you can eliminate the threat of seasickness from owners and guests, yachting becomes a great deal more fun. Silver Cloud has just completed a voyage to the Arctic Circle and has returned to Florida in preparation for the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. Silver Cloud is ready for a new owner that wants to set out on worldwide adventures that not many other yachts can duplicate.
