Overview

"My Turn" is a wonderfully well equipped Back Cove 26 with the preferred optional hard top and both bow and stern thrusters for easy maneuvering around the docks.  Her classic downeast styling and modern construction provide great looks and make her easy to own.  Above decks you'll find full optional cockpit seating and optional jump seats behind the helm chairs as well. The interior is light and airy with hand -varnished American cherry and a wonderfully equipped galley.  Fuel economy is extraordinary with her single 240hp Yanmar diesel and 265 nautical mile range.   The entire helm deck lifts for complete belowdecks access to the engine and all her systems.  "Spirited, beautiful and seaworthy" are the words Back Cove uses to describe this classic downeast cruiser.  Make an appointment to see her soon.  Showings by appointment only.

Building on the success of the Back Cove 29 (2004-09), the Back Cove 26 is a scaled-down version of 29, but with a pipe- supported hardtop (optional) rather than the 29's integrated hardtop. Like all Back Cove models, the 26 combines classic Down East styling with sophisticated construction and many quality features. "Simplicity" is a word often used to described the 26; the layout is nothing unusual, but her wide 9'4" beam results in considerably more cockpit and cabin space than one expects to find in a 26-foot boat. Port and starboard molded steps in the cockpit lead to the side and fore deck, and the large (and high) windshield has opening side panels for ventilation. Below, the forward dinette converts to sleep two comfortably. Aft of the dinette on the starboard side is a full head with shower, and on the port side is a small galley with refrigerator, stove, and sink. The cabin, an appealing blend of cherry joinery and premium hardware, sports a handsome teak-and-holly sole. Wide side decks and cockpit jump seats are a plus, and a bow thruster was standard. The entire helm deck lifts for engine access. Cruise at 22 knots (mid 20s top) with a single 260hp Yanmar diesel.

Manufacturer Provided Description

The style and grace of the Maine lobster boat has been admired by boating enthusiasts the world over. No builder blends classic good looks with modern construction better than Back Cove Yachts. As spirited as she is beautiful, the Back Cove 26 will cruise at 20 knots and provide a dry, comfortable ride. She is a joy to operate and a pleasure to own.

First introduced in 2004, the Back Cove 26 is available in an open bass boat style or she can be configured with a pipe supported hard top for protection from the weather. She is offered with a variety of different diesel engine choices from 200 to 260 horsepower. A standard bow thruster makes low speed maneuvering a breeze.
