Vessel Overview/ Description

The Bristol 48.8 offers some improvements over the 47.7 by way of a more modern saloon configuration and better storage aft. PATRIOT has been used seasonally in the Northeast and hauled each winter. She offers all of the notable options such as air conditioning, electric winches and electric Stoway. The interior fit and finish represents an upgrade over the Bristol standard with some raised panels, fitted locker doors and a fully removable cabin sole.

Accommodations

PATRIOT offers the popular “guests forward, owners aft” arrangement plan.  Owner’s quarters are expansive and comfortable with centerline berth, ensuite head and shower stall, opening ports, large overhead deck hatch and abundant storage via 3 drawers and 11 lockers.  The cedar lined hanging locker measures 40” wide.

The passageway forward includes machinery access on the inboard side and a forward facing nav station on the outboard side.

The main saloon is unique by virtue of the circular settee / dinette and matching curved settee to starboard (a defining feature of the 48.8 as opposed to the 47.7).  The galley, immediately to starboard at the companionway, is appropriately configured for cooking at sea with all components surrounding the cook, (see GALLEY).  The customized teak table extends to the opposing settee to provide comfortable seating for six adults.  Media components are concealed behind attractive louvered doors.

The forward stateroom includes a Vee-berth with cabinets above, hanging lockers and drawers.  The overhead deck hatch and opening ports allow generous light and ventilation.  The ensuite head is finished in white tile, with integral shower. Headroom is nearly 7 feet.

Comments

PATRIOT has been in the Northeast and used seasonally for virtually her entire life and machinery hours and condition reflect that.  The “softening” of the interior configuration as compared to the 47.7 is a significant improvement, while providing larger lazarette storage aft. Condition is above average.  We encourage prospective 45.5 and 47.7 buyers to visit the other offerings, then inspect PATRIOT.
