Built by Carbon Ocean Yachts to RINA class in 2010, using the latest construction techniques, the hull is built of pre-preg carbon fibre, giving enormous weight savings and blistering pace. With just a three- or four-day transformation, a soft, elegant and fast cruiser loses six tons to become an ultra-high-performance racer.

Accommodation is for six guests in a master suite, double stateroom and a twin cabin, while a 180hp Yanmar engine gives power for 10 to 12 knots. The saloon is spacious with an open plan layout, with the galley off to one side that leads to the crew cabin aft. The flexible interior offers future owners the ability to specify a bespoke arrangement to suit their individual aspirations.

Carbon Ocean Yachts (USA) build a range of 82’-120’ high performance cruiser-racers (70/30 ratio), that can genuinely perform both roles without compromise. Aegir, was unbeaten both on the water and corrected at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, Cruiser/Racer championship, 2012 and cruised from Palma to Malta (670nm) in only 62 hours, with winds gusting over 40kn, hitting speeds of 22kn+. In addition, she also won first place in the Maxi Racing class at the 2013 Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup world championships.

The goal of AEGIR’s owner was to build the fastest 80 foot cruiser in carbon possible!   It was always stressed to the design team that the yacht was to be a cruiser first and have the ability to cruise extensively.    With her base primarily in the Med, the focus was also on a light air design.   At that time, the GOETZ yard in Bristol, Rhode Island USA was one of the top carbon yacht builders, and chosen after visiting many other yards.

It is very rare to find a yacht that can cruise and/or race, and excel at both. In 2013, she won the Rolex Maxi World Cup racing division on handicap, the 2012 Super Yacht Cup in Sardinia, and the 2011 Rolex Maxi World Cup cruiser division.   She also won her class in the 2011 Caribbean 600 and was second in the 2011 Maxi Rolex World Cup cruiser division.   On the cruising side, she has provided the owner and family a luxury platform for cruising Croatia, the Rivera, the Greek Islands, Balearics and Turkey.  She is ready for a new adventure with a new family.

·         Planking is vertical teak, 57mm wide x 9mm thick, Boarders are 95mm. Deck Finish - All visible surfaces are faired using awlgrip fairing compounds.
