MAIN DESCRIPTION
Arthur DeFever's 44 Offshore, Great Loop capable, Cruiser is a popular
modern classic for cruising and for living aboard. The design remains
popular because she is comfortable, safe, functional and attractive.
She's a full displacement, heavily built trawler on a solid fiberglass
hull. Under water running gear is protected by a deep keel and stout
struts. Outside spaces include a large covered aft deck. The
fly-bridge is spacious with commanding views for navigation or docking.
The dinghy is stored aft of the fly-bridge.
Below decks, the teak
interior is arranged with the galley mid-ship to port and on the same
level as the main saloon living and entertainment space. Sleeping
accommodations are in two cabins. The master stateroom is aft and
features a walk-around Sleep Number queen and ensuite head with a stall
shower. The forward guest quarters provide two bunks in a vee-berth
configuration. One highlight of this DeFever 44 is a large, well lit,
walk-in engine room. Sea Grace spent her time in fresh water from May
2015 to August 2019 and was stored at Winter Harbor's indoor heated
facility for the winters from 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19.
DEFEVER 44 WALKTHROUGH
Sea Grace is boarded through sundeck level gates to port and starboard
or from the swim platform. The sundeck offers a large, covered
entertainment area. Up a few steps from the sundeck is the flybridge
with Bimini, partial enclosure, fully equipped helm and plenty of
seating. The main cabin can be accessed from the sundeck or
the port and starboard sliding doors from the walk-around decks. The
main cabin features the lower helm station and L-shaped seating area to
port with dining table. Storage space can be found in the seating area
extending under the side decks. Starboard is more storage as well as
two refrigerators with freezer compartments and an ice maker. Aft of
the salon seating area is the U-shaped galley, fully equipped with
electric stove and oven, double stainless steel sink and extensive
storage. A microwave oven is just a few steps down in the aft master
stateroom closet, as is the washer/dryer. The full beam aft master
stateroom boasts an island queen with Sleep Number dual control
mattress, extensive storage in drawers and lockers and a desk. The
ensuite head offers a Tecma freshwater electric toilet, sink mounted in a
vanity with storage, and a stall shower.
Moving forward and
down a few steps from the main cabin is the guest stateroom with
V-berth, storage drawers and locker. The adjacent head is equipped with
a Tecma freshwater electric toilet, sink in vanity with storage above
and below and a hand shower with curtain enclosure.
The
stand-up engine room is accessed through a door near the guest
stateroom. The large engine room enables convenient maintenance.
